The wind dulled slightly as Clair began climbing out of her window. Tom stayed still, waiting for her to make an abrupt move. At any time, she could pull out a weapon, or call the police. Slowly, he backed away from the "still unspotted" artwork. Almost instantly, Clair leaped from her window, landing with a thud. Startled, Tom ran, adrenaline running through his veins. In hot pursuit, Clair lept at Tom, crashing onto him with full force! Wow, she's really fast! Tom thought silently, while being pinned to the cold sand ground. "Who are you?!? A burglar?!" She shouted, while putting him in a headlock. Looking back at the house wall, she noticed the large design left by Tom. Suddenly, Clair felt rage pour inside her usually calm body, making her feel an urge to punch him straight in the gut. "So you're into graffiti, huh?!?" She held his head flat on the floor, him struggling to breathe. "I-It's not that!" He stuttered, squirming against Clair's grip. "I just love to get out every so often!" He needed to think of a lie, and fast. "I don't believe you." She held up her fist, ready to throw a punch, when he suddenly went limp. Sprawled out on the ground, he falsely whimpered, "Please, just let me go. I never get to go out of my house, and my mom is hospitalized." She loosened her hold on his head, but still held him down weakly. "Than why come here, on a private beach?" She eyed him suspiciously. "It's just so pretty here. I've always wanted to come her before, but never have before because I'm banned from leaving my house." He looked at her with his hazel eyes, hoping his trick would fool her. "Then why did you graffiti on my house?" Her grip was almost completely flushed, but she hadn't let go of his arms yet. "It's just... I didn't do this to you, personally, but just wanted some thrill in my life." Saying this, he knew he had persuaded her. She let go of him completely, pity masking her face, which was partially hidden by the darkness of the night. "Just leave. Right now." Her eyes were showing signs of empathy, and she pointed to the bike. "Can you go when it's this dark?" Tom nodded slowly, stunned that his plan had worked. "Good... well, time to go then."
