_seven months later_
The sunset looked breathtaking that day.
I mean, it looked beautiful everyday really. It's just, that day, it struck Taehyung as so magnificent, so unique, so glorious, he wondered how he could have missed the utter beauty before.
Soft rays of orange and golden dotted the sky, emerging out from the sun and spreading in each direction. It seemed as if entities above had been melting butter lately, since that's what the sky looked like; golden melted butter.
Taehyung let out a slight sigh of content.
“Beautiful, isn't it?”
Taehyung tightened his hold around the latter's waist.
“Yeah.” He breathed out.
“Nowhere near as beautiful as you though.”
Taehyung laughed. “Quoting me now, are you?”
“Is that illegal?”
Taehyung leaned down and pressed his lips briefly against Jungkook's.
“What's gotten into you all of a sudden?” He asked, smiling bemusedly.
Jungkook rested his head on Taehyung's shoulder. “I feel aesthetic.”
“And I have a sudden urge to tickle you until you beg me to stop.”
“That's a rather strange urge.”
“Oh yeah? Wanna try it out?”
“No thanks, loser.”
Taehyung pulled the latter closer. “It was a good idea to come here, wasn't it?”
“Yeah. Hoseok hyung was right after all. He said him and Yoongi come here all the time.”
“Good that.”
‘Here’ was actually the top of a lonely, yet grassy hill by the side of the highway, dotted by large shady trees providing plenty of protection against the searing hot sun, now going down at least.
Jungkook smoothed out the blanket around them, like the neat freak he was, and settled down into Taehyung's arms.
“Honestly, now that I think about it, this would be an excellent location for a wedding.” He muttered. “Blue skies, plenty of space, legit view...”
Taehyung chuckled. “A little too eager aren't we, soon-to-be Kim Jungkook?”
The later scoffed. “Oh please, it'll be you who'll be Jeon Taehyung, not the other way around.”
Taehyung laughed and intertwined their fingers together, both slightly brushing against each other, but enough to hold out as a promise, a deep oath, to never let go.
The rings especially stood out, glinting beautifully against the dying embers of the sun's last rays, as it finally completed it's descent and vanished out of sight, leaving behind only it's after image.
That is the beautiful part, Taehyung thought, as he took in the sight of the rays making Jungkook's skin look golden as well. That it's like promising us it'll come back up again.
That it'll never let go until the end.
