"We forget cruelty and past betrayal, Heedless of where the next bright bolt may fall." -Robert Graves

"They...can't." Rose said uneasily, as she intertwined her fingers. "I invited them to stay here for a bit, Ivan."

"Did you forget what he did to you, Rose?" Ivan said viciously. He grabbed Rose by the arm and dragged her outside. "Excuse us."

Once outside, Rose pulled her arm free from Ivan's grip.

"Bloody hell, Ivan. That hurt." Rose hissed as she rubbed her arm. She pulled up her sleeve to reveal the already forming bruise.

"My apologies Rose, but you were in St. Mungo's because of him." Ivan said, controlling his anger. "Stop being dimwitted"

"I'm /not/ dimwitted Ivan. Stop insulting me." Rose replied. "And he- they, won't be here for long. I just want to vent some things and then I will turn him in."

Ivan sighed, "Fine." He leaned in and snogged Rose. "You taste like firewhiskey.

Rose's P.O.V;;

Scorpius. Scorpius had been drinking firewhiskey before he snogged me in the Leaky Cauldron.

"Yeah..." I replied to Ivan, "I had a few sips." I was lying, and felt terrible about it, but Ivan would get too angry for me to handle right now.

"Alright. I have to get going. See you in a few days." Ivan said before kissing my cheek.

"Where are you going?" I asked as I frowned. I felt like it was something important to remember, but something I had completely forgotten.

"How could you forget? You've been complaining about it for the past few weeks. I'm going to train with the Bulgarian National Team." Ivan reminded.

"Right, right." I replied, rubbing my forehead. Scorpius had completely wiped out most of my thoughts. "Have a nice trip." I kissed his cheek before walking back inside.

Emilie picked up the moving photo of Rose and Ivan as they hugged, snogged, and laughed. Scorpius's plan wasn't working too well, and the tension was obviously clear. She put the photo back down when she heard Rose re-enter sans Ivan. Emilie joined Scorpius in the living room and plopped down next to him.

"I'm right again." Emilie whispered to him. Scorpius hardly acknowledged her as he crossed his arms and glared at his shirt.

"The couch pulls out to a bed. There's a guest room too if that's needed." Rose said as she picked up a duffel bag. "I'll be back around eight this evening. Holyhead Harpies training." She waved before leaving.

Emilie watched as Rose left and apparated in the hallway.

"Your plan is completely ruined." She said to Scorpius. "Don't glare at me. That Ivan just beat you to it."

Scorpius rubbed his forehead, trying to relax and think of something else. "I'm sorry Emilie. I'm just...so stunned."

"Poor thing." Emilie said, rubbing his back.

At eight p.m, Ivan shifted out of the Queen sized bed. His flight was in an hour and he had to hurry.

"Where are you going?" Hope Parkinson asked as she faced him. She was cozily tucked into her bedspread and gave him an appreciative smile.

"I have to leave remember?" Ivan said. Why did it seem like these girls kept forgetting about him? He was dating Rose but having an affair with Hope. And most of the time, Hope was more caring.

"I don't want you to go." Hope whined as she sat up and pulled him back down on the bed. She kissed his lips, "Can't you stay a /little/ longer? I hardly see you as it is because you're either with Rose or traveling to Bulgaria...."

"And I'm sorry about that. Rose is broken enough as it is and Bulgaria is my job." Ivan replied, kissing her back. He pulled his shirt over his head and put on his shoes.

"Will you see me first when you get back?" Hope asked.

"yes." Ivan replied before kissing her again. He stood and left.

Rose apparated into her bedroom and dropped her bag. She was exhausted because Katie had worked them harder than usual. All because 'Quidditch Monthly' had named the Holyhead Harpies the number one team in the pre-season statistics. The male counterpart of the honor was the Bulgarian National team. She exited her room and into her bathroom. She showered and dressed before going back to her room to check her mail. Rent was due on the loft and the only magical mail was the Daily Prophet. She almost completely dismissed the newspaper until she saw a header that caught her eye.

"Fugitive Scorpius Malfoy spotted in the Leaky Cauldron." Rose picked up the newspaper. There wasn't a photo but an accurate description and a warning stating that he was dangerous. The red-headed girl pulled open her door to show it to Emilie and Scorpius after she got a cup of tea.

"There's got to be something that's off about him. I can feel it, Em." Scorpius said. They had moved to sit on the floor in their pajamas.

"Are you sure you don't just feel indigestion?" Emilie asked before laughing at her own lame joke. "Perhaps it is jealousy?"

"I am not jealous of Ivan Zabini." Scorpius replied.

"Liar. You were practically seething in rage." Emilie replied as she sipped the bottle of butterbeer. "You can't even prove anything."

Scorpius leaned in and snogged Emilie. Her lips were sugary from the butterbeer and soft from the amount of chapstick she used daily. Emilie wrapped an arm around his neck to pull him closer.

They both pulled apart when they heard a crash of glass. Rose stood in the doorway to the living room. A broken tea cup lay at her feet, along with the Daily Prophet.

"Sorry to interrupt."

A/N: Not very long but very steamy.
