“True love can wait and withstand the perils of life.”

Rose grabbed the last full bottle of firewhiskey from Ivan's bar before apparating out of his house. She stepped into her kitchen and found Emilie awake a making something.

“What are you doing up?” Rose asked as she put the bottle on the counter. She wrapped her arms around herself as if trying to hold herself together and let out an exhausted breath.

“I heard. From Scorpius. So I thought I'd make you some tea. Its always helped me when I needed to be soothed.” Emilie said. She raised an eyebrow at the firewhiskey, “Of course a little alcohol always helped too.” The dark-haired girl popped open the bottle and poured a bit into the chamomile tea.

Rose coughed as she downed the tea/firewhiskey mixture. “Why are you so nice? You probably know I don't exactly like you.”

“You don't like me because you think I'm romantically involved with Scorpius. Put that worry or fear to rest. I have no interest in Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. The bloody git is too foolish. I have more of an interest in your cousin James.” Emilie said a little drunkenly. The two girls were seated on the couch, quietly drinking. It was a comfortable silence and the start of a budding friendship.

“Where is Scorpius anyway?” Rose asked, “He would definitely like to hear about how I exploded the ring and stole Ivan's liquor.”

“I was just downstairs in the storage.” Scorpius said as he shut the door.

“I'll leave you two alone.” Emilie suggested as she stood up. “Goodnight Rose. Scorpius.” She smiled before walking into the guest bedroom.

“You would steal his liquor.” Scorpius commented as he picked up the bottle. He drank from the bottle before grinning and plopping down next to her.

“Are we just going to drink ourselves drunk?” Rose asked after she grabbed the bottle from him and took a swig.

“Hmm...maybe.” Scorpius replied as he contemplated the bottle in her hands. “Why do you think we end up together like this?”

Rose rested her head on his shoulder, “I don't know Scorpius. I loved you once. I don't think I could handle it if you broke my heart again.”

“Then I won't.” Scorpius said quietly. “Let's think about something else. /Talk/ about something else. /Do/ anything else.”

“Like what? If we go out we'd need to change your looks and I'd have to change.” Rose pointed.

“Well, Rosie, get changed, then change my looks.” Scorpius encouraged.

One hour later, Scorpius and Rose sat in a loud club with the Weird Sisters playing live.

“They're a good band.” Scorpius yelled to Rose. His hair was a light brown and he now had green eyes. Rose didn't find them as captivating as his gray ones.

“Aunt Ginny's favourite band.” Rose commented. She sipped her tall glass of firewhiskey. This bartender served you as much as you wanted as long as you weren't planning on riding a broom or driving a magical car later.

“Let's dance.” Scorpius suggested, a few drinks later. He laughed before pulling Rose off her stool.

“What? No. We're drunk, Scorpius.” Rose replied. She let a giggle slip as Scorpius led her into a sloppy waltz. “If you start singing...I'm leaving you here.”

“Then I won't. But I want to dance with the magnificent Rose Weasley. I'm haven't lost my mind.” Scorpius said

“Yes you have. We're waltzing...poorly if I may comment, to rock music.” Rose said.

“I apologize, Ms. Weasley. What could I do to make it better?” Scorpius asked, “another drink? Or another dance?”

“I'll take the drink option.” Rose agreed. She followed him back to the bar for a few more rounds of drinks.

“I can't believe....they kicked us out.” Rose said once she and Scorpius stumbled out of the club.

“I think it was because we were about to start a bar fight.” Scorpius reminded as he wrapped an arm around her waist to steady her. “Careful.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Rose said drunkenly. “How are we going to get home? I left our wands at the loft.”

“The same way we got here. The underground.” Scorpius stated with a shrug.

“That will take awhile. Buts its okay.” Rose said softly. She leaned in and snogged Scorpius. She smiled against his lips when he trapped her against the wall. “We'll never get home this way.”

“Watch me get us home.” Scorpius said between the slow snogging.

An hour and a half later, Scorpius carried Rose through the door to her loft. “Told you.”

“Yes, you did. Should have believed you.” Rose said with a smile as he set her right on her feet. They snogged again before stumbling into her bedroom.

“Are you sure?” Scorpius asked. Both of them were half dressed and Scorpius's looks were halfway between. Rose picked up her wand and fixed him. She put her wand on the end-table before she nodded. Her lips touched his before they continued.
