"How else can I explain those rainbows when there is no rain? it's magic." -Sammy Cahn
"Scorpius." Rose uttered, a little confused. The harsh memories flooding back. She frowned at Emilie. Was he dating her? She was certainly pretty but still.
"Rose." Scorpius replied. He gave her a crooked smile, praying she wouldn't shout to get someone's attention.
"Eh bien, c'est difficile. Bonjour Rose Weasley, je suis Emilie Marceau." Emilie greeted with a thin smile.
"English please." Scorpius said softly. He couldn't seem to take his eyes off Rose and Emilie silently laughed.
"This is awkward. Hello Rose. I'm Emilie." Emilie greeted. Rose acknowledged Emilie with a thin smile before gulping.
"What can I get you two?"
"Rose! When do you get off?" James Potter called once he entered the Leaky Cauldron. It was his break time and he wanted to catch a firewhiskey before he returned to the Auror Office. His father was also getting on his nerves at work. "And can I have a firewhiskey?"
"Sit down James. She'll be right with you." Kyle said calmly. He handed James the firewhiskey before returning to wiping down the bar.
Rose walked back from Scorpius's table and smiled weakly at James. "I get off at three. Then I have practice with the Hollyhead Harpies." Rose said coolly.
Rose's P.O.V.;;
James would arrest Scorpius and throw him into Azkaban if he saw him. I couldn't let that happen. Yet. I would be completely /mad/ to just let him go free for what he did to me. I didn't know who Emilie was..but she didn't seem like a good character. At least Harper wasn't around. I inwardly cringed at the thought.
"You okay?" James asked. I smiled at him. His face was creased with worry and I forced myself to laugh at his expression.
"Premature wrinkles." I commented.
"Rose." I heard Emilie speak behind me. I turned. "Yes Emilie?"
"More firewhiskey, s'il vous plaît(please)." Emilie asked with a smile. She sat down next to James while I handed Kyle her empty glass, silently praying Scorpius wouldn't pop out too.
Scorpius's P.O.V.;;
I wasn't daft. I never very well that James Potter was an auror and wouldn't waste two seconds throwing my void bum into Azkaban. I was null to that whole family. I had gotten the feeling that Hermione was starting to like me back in my seventh year. If those feelings ever existed...they were gone now. I silently listened in on James's and Emilie's conversation.
"French?" James asked Emilie.
"Yes." Emilie replied. "With a hint of an American. I lived there for a while."
"That's interesting. I haven't crossed the pond and don't exactly plan on it. But you must lead an interesting life."
Merlin's beard! It sounded like James was trying to get in Emilie's pants. Emilie brought me out of my thoughts once I heard her laughing at something James said. I must have missed it.
"They're getting pretty comfortable with each other." Rose commented as she sat down next to me.
I nodded as I examined her. She hadn't changed much...maybe more freckles.
"How's life been?" She asked with a smile. Her blue eyes held no emotion as she spoke to me. It was like she didn't necessarily care that I was around once more.
"Uh, hectic." I replied after a moment of hesitation. "And you?"
"You really want to know?"
I nodded.
"Its been hell, Malfoy. I was tortured for nearly twenty-four hours by Harper. And you didn't even lift a bloody finger! You just stood there with a idiotic expression on your face and just watched! I almost think you were /amused/ by it! I've had nightmares almost every day since then. I can't even spend a joyful Christmas with my family because of you! I spent six months in St. Mungo's because all I did was scream and cry for /weeks/ after that day! I hate you and you are repulsive! Just walk back into my life with all that perfect hair and those brooding gray eyes! D.amn you, Scorpius. And the worst part? The one thing that hurt the most were my feelings. To think I fell for you! It was all a /lie/!" Rose was crying silently now and I froze. Everything she had said stung, and it was all true.
I grabbed her shoulders and snogged her lips. When I pulled away I searched her eyes for something. Anything. That would convince me I could change her thoughts.
"Don't do this to me, Scorpius." Rose whispered to me.
"Rose-" I started to argue.
"Please."
A/N: I tend to be cliché and melodramatic. o_o
Hope you liked anyway(:
