“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” -Winston Churchill

“You've got a point. Forever in hiding. That's horrible. My family and I are going to drop the charges on Scorpius after the baby is born.” Rose said, “Why are we still sitting in the forest?”

“I'm too weak to get up and apparate.” Scorpius reminded her a little harshly. He felt a testy, and wanted to seek vengeance on Harper. But that would have to wait until he felt stronger.

Harper was slowly terrorizing the Wizarding World. She was killing and making headlines practically every day.

“This is....crazy.” Scorpius said one day, weeks later. Rose's stomach had doubled in size. So did her waist band.

“Someone will catch her. There are reported sightings. Or so says my father.” Rose said as she handed him a glass of firewhiskey. She wanted one but was banned from it by the doctor.

“Chocolate frog?” Rose offered as she picked up the package. She had collected all the cards during her seven years at Hogwarts and owned the neatest collection in the world.

“No. Thank you though. Feel alright?” Scorpius asked as he stood. He knelt in front of her and sipped his drink. “my Rose is getting chubby. The weight looks good on you. Makes you nicely proportioned.”

“That's the nicest thing to say.” Rose said with a roll of her eyes. She moved over to let him sit before his phone rang. “Aren't you tired of the device yet?”

“Its useful.” Scorpius said. “Hello?”

Rose lifted his shirt to examine his bandages. The white gauze was almost hardly stained with blood, which was good because it meant he was healing. The bandage was only necessary because it was holding his stitches closed.

“What's wrong?” Rose asked as soon as Scorpius was off the phone.

“Let go of me! Lâchez-moi, vous cruelle bête immonde esprit!(Let go of me, you cruel foul minded monster!)” Emilie scowled as she tried to wrestle down the auror. She still didn't have a wand and had been on her way to Ollivander's.

“Things will be easier if you didn't fight.” The auror growled. He threw Emilie over his shoulder before apparating to Azkaban.

“Do I at least get a phone call?” Emilie taunted once he had her chained. She glared at him through the cell bars before he sighed and threw her a phone. “Can't talk with my hands chained behind my back.”

“Sure you can.” The auror said. He walked into the cell and dialed the number Emilie requested.

“Emilie's been captured by an auror.” Scorpius said, “She needs help.”

“But uncle Harry called off the aurors in England!” Rose argued, “and Harry wouldn't lie to me.”

“Could be from another country.” Scorpius pointed out. “Just like Kira.”

“Then go!” Rose urged, “She needs to be helped!”

“I can't leave you here alone. You're pregnant, remember?” Scorpius said as he stood.

“I'll be /fine/ Scorpius. Harper hasn't been sighted around here. I'll even put wards up.” Rose convinced.

“Fine. What's your safeword?” Scorpius asked.

“Firewhiskey and Chocolate Frogs of course.” Rose said with a laugh as Scorpius went to get changed.

“Put the wards up as soon as I leave.” Scorpius instructed as he pulled on his shoes. He was dressed neater and his hair was combed back for a more sophisticated look.
