“After an argument, silence may mean acceptance—or the continuation of resistance by other means.” -Mason Cooley
All he had to do was meet the dealer to get the ring. And then he would smoothly ask Rose to marry him. He didn't want a bastard child. Scorpius wanted his child to know that he and Rose loved each other and made 'em out of love. Now he would meet the dealer at Hollow Forest. The guy must live near there or something.
Emilie paced her cell. She would be executed tomorrow at noon. The French tended to be so old fashioned. At least they had let her go to her storage locker. If she was going to die, she wanted to be dressed well.
“Merlin, I'd kill for a firewhiskey.” Emilie muttered. At least she wasn't being tried in America. They tended to be even crueler. Gabriel Dillard was adamant in correct punishment.
“Daddy, he obviously knocked some girl up, loves her, and he went to her! Its romantic! Would be even more so it was happening to me!” Gwen complained. She followed her father through the prison. “What are we doing here anyway? Its in the middle of the frickin' ocean!”
Emilie inwardly rolled her eyes. American teens. Crazy, but some had a few good characteristics. Gwen Dillard was not one of them.
“This is a serial killer. Remember when your aunt Lola was killed? This is her killer.” Gabriel said. “She's being executed tomorrow.”
“Why bring me here?” Gwen asked.
“She knows things about Scorpius.”
Rose walked into her loft with the last of the groceries. Without Emilie or someone to help, buying groceries were hard. Especially when she was hungry for everything. Hermione, Molly, and Victoire had all laughed at her. Saying something about 'early cravings'. Rose scowled at the thought and walked into the kitchen. She was still convinced that her stomach was a a little larger, but everyone disagreed with her. Katie had given her pregnancy leave on the team after a short baby shower. Rose sat down on the couch after putting away her purchases and closed her eyes for a quick nap.
Scorpius ran, his heart racing. /thump thump thump/ he couldn't do this, he didn't want to. It shouldn't end this way. Not with Rose moody and frequently upset with him. Not with Emilie in captivity. None of this right.
“Don't run when you can't hide, bug.” Harper called from behind him. The hair on the back of the boy's neck raised. He knew she was getting closer.
“ROSE!” Scorpius yelled, half mad.
Rose felt like she was punched in the gut. She gently put her hands on her stomach and silently prayed nothing was wrong. She was okay until she felt like she was being punched again.
“What is it?” Rose muttered to herself. Then she passed out.
Rose opened her eyes but knew she hadn't exactly reached consciousness. All she could see was the forest around her and the nagging feeling she should run. Obeying her instincts, Rose began to run.
He could see her. She had heeded his call and was just in front of him.
“Avada Kedavra!” Harper screeched from behind. It hit the tree next to him and encouraged him to pick up his speed. Harper was trying to scare him or was intending to kill him. Either way, she was a miserable shot.
“Rose!” Scorpius yelled out again. She never even turned around.
Rose continued to run when she heard the sound of a splitting tree. Something was behind her. She felt deaf to most noises except for the panting of her breath. “Rose!” Scorpius. She could hear him!
