Angry Mother and Parabatai

(Pipers pov) Btw the ceramony won't be accurate but Idk how it actully goes so just go along with it.

After we got back Izzy dragged me into her room where it looked like some sort of ceramony was set up, right we are becoming parabatai tonight. She pulls out her phone and I see a lady on the other side.

"Are you girls ready, Isabelle?" The lady says,

"Yes we are" Izzy says and the ceramony starts.

"Ok, girls take out your steles" the women said, we did what we were told and she continued

"Alright now repeat after me, I promise to fight by your side and always be there for you as not just a friend, but another part of me" we repeated what the women said and she said

"And I promise to fulfill the duties of being your parabatai without complaint, and I will never betray you" we repeated again, then the women said

"Now draw the parabatai rune on eachother" I saw Izzy draw the rune on me on my wrist below my palm. I drew hers in the same place,

"Now I pronounce you two, parabatai's" the lady smiled then hung up. We looked at each other and smiled, I hugged my newly bound sister and we squeled, this was actully happening.

The next day:
I had invited Ashlynn over, I missed having her around, plus, after yesterday's fiasco, I want to train her with wepons, then when she showed up, Jace said he'd help us both out, aka he just wanted an excuse to spend time with Ashlynn, he obviously has taken a liking towords her, i think she has taken a liking to him too, oh well I'll ask her later.

"Okay so you just line it up" I demenstrated with the dagger, "and just flick it" I land it on the dummy, she copies my actions and lands it straight on then bullseye.

" Nice Ashlynn" Jace states, while we continued to practice, Jace started to show off his super speed in moves,

"Show off" I muttered, Ashlynn chuckled as Jace glared at us, going back to his training, then I saw the lady who lead my parabatai ceramony walk in watching Jace with a smile on her face, when Jace stops he sees the women watching him and smiles.

"Maryse" he says smiling,

"Hey" she says back, she walks up to Jace and hugs him. I look at Izzy who has a scowl on her face, I can tell that she didn't hug Izzy.

"It's great to see you how's everyone in Idris? Where's, uh where's Max?" Jace starts rambling, Ash giggles slightly causing Jace to send her a look, smirking slightly. Then Izz walked forward.

"No Max, just Mom with her hair on fire." Isabelle stated, I rolled my eyes but laughed at the same time.

"I love how Shadowhunters share. A hidden brother, and a secret country, and a private Portal." Clary said sarcastically. Alec walks in confused,

"Mother. Welcome back. We didn't expect you." Alec says shocked, Maryse hugged Alec,

"You should be prepared, whether you expect me or not." Maryse snapped

"I am. We are." Alec corrected, I chuckle at his attempt of impressing his mother.

"We'll talk about the Institute later. Right now, we have a bigger problem. The Seelies have stopped communicating with the Clave and won't explain why. My guess is they're still upset we asked them to send scouts to look for Valentine, but no one in their realm will talk." Maryse states

"I have Seelie friends." Issabelle said

"Yes, I know about your friends. Isabelle, we stay separate from the Downworld for good reasons. The wrong move, the wrong word Do you think there is such a thing as harmless rebellion? Who knows what offends these creatures? Maybe you told him them something they shouldn't know. Maybe you trod on one of their ridiculous customs without knowing it." Maryse yelled

"Wait, wait. I don't understand. You're laying all this on Izzy for having a friend in the Downworld?" Jace questioned, I scoff at her remark

"There is nothing wrong with being friends with downworlders, I'm friends with downworlders there's nothing wrong with that is there?" I question her,

"Ya and I'm a downworlder, Isabelle has never offended any of the warlok customs?" Ashlynn snapped obviously offended,

"Shut up you stupid disease, your kind is a discrimination to this world, us shadowhunters will get lucky if you all burn to death" Maryse snarled,

"That's Enough! Maryse you have no right to talk to her like that she's done nothing wrong we get downworlders to help us all of the time there is nothing wrong with being friends with a downworlder!" Jace yells, I smirk in satisfaction of seeing her mad, then I relized why he defended us, he was defending Ash, he liked her, I thought he was a player, he must really care about her.

"When someone upsets the natural order, everything falls apart." Maryse responded

"Natural order? What are you saying?" Clary asked

"I can help. I know how to talk to Seelies." Isabelle said

"She's right. She can visit with Meliorn and see what he knows. I could go with her if you want." Alec said

"I'd rather Jace goes along this time. Alec, you stay with the Fairchild girl. I want her under control. She's caused enough trouble already." Maryse stated, then continued "didn't we get that England transfer? Where is he?" Then my ex walked in like he was summond.

"Oh hello, you must be Maryse Lightwood, the head of instatute, I'm Thomas Athean, pleasure to meet you" he kisses her hand as she nods,

"Pleasure to meet you as well, I was just asking about you, I want you to go on a mission with Jace and Isabelle to investigate the Seelies, are you alright with that?" Maryse asks, I clench my fists, asking some boy she doesn't even know to go on the mission rather than her own son.

"Oh Alec, I want you to watch the Gray girl and the Fairchild girl they've caused a lot of trouble already, oh if you can get the Bane girl to leave that would be great!" Maryse beamed.

"Maybe that's because I wasn't even a Shadowhunter until a few days ago!" Clary defended

"And what an exciting few days it has been. The Clave counts on us Lightwoods to maintain order here." Maryse said

"You don't need to tell me that. If the mission is important to the Clave, I would prefer to be the one who goes with Isabelle." Alec said trying to persuade his mom.

"You're all so eager to do what you would prefer. It's time to face the truth. Life is not about what you want to do, it's about what must be done. I have given you your assignments, now carry them out. You, you and you, with me, now." She pointed to the three, Thomas and Isabelle followed her, Jace was about to then Ashlynn walked up to him. They started talking and I saw him smile then walk off, then she walks back to me.

"What was that about?" I asked her with my eyebrows raised, she blushed then said

"I was thanking him for defending me, then he apologized for Maryse' rude behavior, he was really sweet" her face flushed when she finished,

"OMG you like him!" I gasp, her face was now red with embarrassment,

"No, well maybe, no! No I don't like him!" Ashlynn argued, then she continued "Don't tell him please!?" I gasp again

"I won't if you admit to liking him" She sighs and looks down and mumbled

"I like Jace" I smile and hug her, she hugs back and smiles.

"He likes you too" she looses her smile and says

"No, no he doesn't" Clary and Alec walk over and Alec says

"I'm sorry about my mother, I have to keep you guys out of trouble though" he has a sad smile, I wrap an arm around him for support, then Jace called him over and they started talking, he kept looking at Ashlynn, it was obvious that he liked her, why can't they just admit their feelings for each other. Alec walked back and hugged me,

"I'll be okay, just be carful alright?" He asks, I smile

"Alright."
