Chris' POV- June 2017

I was currently having lunch with James who was back in LA for his residency.

"So you bring me out to lunch so I won't pout at the fact that you and my sister are going out tonight, without me"

"Tickets are $400" I informed James.

He smiled.

"Nevermind"

"I actually asked you to come to lunch with me because I wanted to talk to you about something" I mentioned.

He smirked.

"You finally got the balls and want to ask my baby sister to marry you"

How did he know?

"Dude, about fucking time"

"Language" I reminded him because we were in public.

He simply smiled.

"Before the year ends, I want to ask Camila to marry me" I told him.

He grinned.

"How can I help?"

"I need help picking out a ring" I replied.

"Do you have her ring size?"

I nodded and pulled one of Cami's rings from my pocket. He chuckled as he looked at the ring.

"You know Cam has been looking for that ring"

Oh, I knew that, and I had pretended not to know anything about it. To be honest, I had a love/hate relationship with this ring. It was the ring she used to pretend to be engaged to me when I injured my hand a couple of years ago.

"How long have you been holding that ring captive?"

"About a month" I confessed.

He chuckled.

"Well hand it over because I happen to know her ring size"

I handed him the ring and watched as he looked at it.

"She's a size 7"

I nodded and took a deep breath making him laugh.

"Dude, you're literally freaking out"

"What if she says no because it's too soon?" I wondered.

He looked at me and clicked his tongue.

"Let me talk with her then"

See, even he knew that Cami was capable of saying that.

"I doubt she thinks that"

He cleared his throat.

"What's your budget?"

"There is no budget" I answered.

He smiled.

"Good boy"

"She's modest, so not too flashy," I said.

He touched his chest.

"I think I'm going to cry"

"Don't you dare" I warned.

If he cried, so would I.

"I've always thought of you as a brother, and you asking my sister to marry you would make things official"

Our waitress offered us a smile as she placed our drinks on the table before swiftly walking away.

"You could ask during the All-Star Break"

"I'm taking her home to Virginia Beach, and you'd kill me if you were not present" I stated.
