F. My. Life. “We are going to the One Direction signing tomorrow early morning.”
“Since when do you want me to come?’
“Since now. If you come then we will get a extra autograph.”
“Fine.”
We both had credit cards that connected to Mum’s account and she gave us each 5,000 to spend on stuff. We ordered salad, ice tea, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a chocolate trifle on room service. It was almost midnight, but we were staring. Vegetarian and Meg would suffice.
After our non-traditional ‘dinner’, I took a hot shower and it felt good against my skin.
That night I slept early because we are leaving fairly early for the signing. UGH. I slept well because I finally bought ear plugs from the convenience store next to the hotel.
I had trouble sleeping. Number One reason because Meg was singing horrifically to What Makes you Beautiful the whole night. I could hear her even though I had my earplugs in. OMG. I am so getting my own room tomorrow and plus she’s probably gonna trash the whole place. I thought about London alone. About how their accents are the exactly the same as mine, even though I’m a “foreigner”. How they drink tea 24/7 and how I drink tea almost everyday since I moved to L.A. The little shops of bakery in every corner, people on their laptops in the cafes eating crumpets, and businessmen and women. London is tremendously beautiful. There would be no words or cities that I can compare to. New York? No, that’s too crowded. Los Angeles? No, that’s way to modern and chill. London is just the best of both worlds. It is modern, yet so ancient. So professional, yet so not at one time. So high-class, but the middle-class can fit right in. The English flag hanging in every corner, I see their thoughts in nationalism. I could almost hear my heart thumping out of my chest. I can’t believe I am in this utopia. Too perfect, too true. I just wish—
“ELIZABETH!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Oh my god, Meg! Are you kidding me? At 6 in the morning! I had like 5 hours of sleep!”
“Like I care! Now here catch this.”
She quickly handed me a CD, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt with the words: I ♥ LOUIS TOMLINSON.
“I’m soooo not wearing that!”
“Oh, yes you are.” She gave me an evil smirk and winked at me, if you go, I’ll let you borrow my rented car and my license for the whole summer.”
“Sounds legit. Ok fine.”
I packed my coach bag with a extra green hoodie just in case, mints, sunglasses, my iPhone, iTouch, and camera.
Meg always looked like me, but we are complete opposites. Ehh, if we can tweak her nose a bit, she will look exactly like me. This time she let me drive. Darn, she is clever. We arrived at a local bookstore and many girls were already lining up. “Why do you have two letters?” I stopped at a red light and asked Meg, “Hey where do I park?”
As usual, she was nowhere in sight and probably crossing the sidewalk to the bookstore. I found a good parking space, small, but acceptable. I quickly grabbed my bag and walked to the bookstore.
And there goes my train of thought. Thanks Meg.
“Yeah, Meg?” I stood up and tried finding her.
“One Direction is here!” She popped up and scared me from the back.
“Okay, Okay. Chill Meg.”
“How can I ‘chill’ if my future husband is less than 20 miles away from me?” she starts hyperventilating.
“Okay, I am going get some breakfast at that bakery. Don’t go in without me.” I pointed to a bakery down the street with the red awning. Oh who am I kidding?
“Okay, Okay. Whatever.”
