Seconds seemed to pass like hours as we all waited for our parents to walk through the front door. We could hear their footsteps as they got to the door and turn the nob. The door began to open and I saw my dad's arm in a nice suit as he always was dressed in. Eventually, the door was open enough I could see his face. At first, he didn't register that I was sitting in the living room but the moment he did his face filled with rage. He then stormed into the living room and yelled, "Why the hell is he here!" I saw my mom rush in after him with a similar look on her face.
Emily got up from where she had been sitting to address my father, "We had to. He had an accident and this was the only place I could think to bring him."
My dad put his head in his hands and took several deep breathes to compose himself before he ran his fingers through his short dark hair. "Emily, why here?" This came out in more of a growl than anything else.
Jacob started to speak, "The house wasn......" He was cut off by my father's hands around his throat. My dad looked him straight in the eyes and growled, "I asked Emily, not you." He let go of Jacob and turned back to Emily. You could see the fear on her face as she began to speak, "He has been on the news because he survived getting hit by a semi with only minor injuries. It wasn't safe to go back to the house." There was a bit of a pause as she looked at me with a concerned look. She then went on by saying, "I thought it would be better to expose ourselves to Liam than all of the world." Her eyes went down to her feet.
My dad sighed and stated, " I understand, Emily." He gave my mom a look and started to head to a room off of the living room with my mom trailing behind him.
Once they were out of sight, I saw my three siblings visibly relax. However, I was a bit worked up after that.
I'm starting to get really angry. All of my muscles start to get really tight and get to the point of hurting. I look down and find my finger nails digging into my hands and the pain in my shoulder is intensifying. Through clenched teeth I say, "What are you so damn scared to tell me?. Everyone else in the freaking family is in on this little secret other than me. Why do I get treated like shit!" By the end of this I am yelling at my siblings. I'm so enraged I barely feel the pop come from my back and the feeling of something wet on my fingers. I didn't realize something weird had happened until I noticed the shocked looks on their faces.
