He stared across the dance floor, his eyes locked on one person. It had been ages, yet she looked just as beautiful as that day. He'd been in love with her since their high school days. He remembered that day as-if it was yesterday, it was a Wednesday. He had finally built up his courage to ask her to prom, he bought a bouquet of her favorite calla lilies, spent hours on planning the promposal, designing the poster, making it perfect. But he was too late, someone else asked her right before his eyes. Back then she mastered the ability steal all sensible thoughts and leave him breathless and speechless. He couldn't even say no to her when she dragged him to help her pick out her dress to look perfect for the other man. Even now, ten years later, she still had the same effect on him. Today, he wasn't going to let anything or anyone get in the way. He had made up his mind, he was going to ask her to dance with him. He started making his way to her as the same man took her to the dance floor. He was too late once again.
