Lisa's words hit me hard. I needed to talk to

someone who knew how much she's changed. it was a long shot but desperate times call for desparate measures. I guess it was finally time to see Nick again.

I walked up and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" a female voice called. "It's an old friend. Can I come in?" I answered. "Um.....Yeah....Uh just." i walked in to see zoey shirtless sitting next to some guy. "JASON! WHAT THE HELL?!" She yelled atempting to hide herself and i turned around.

"Is your dad here?" i asked clearing my throat. "No he's at the station and mom's shopping for a few hours. you can turn around now." she explained. "No i um, i think i'll just go see your dad at the station. I won't say anything about um... this." i said gesturing behind me and leaving to the station.

When i got to the station i went straight to nick's office. after about ten minutes he came in. "Jason, what a suprise. I didn't know you were in town." he said sitting in his chair. "I want to talk about lisa." i blurted out.

" 'course you do. here." he said handing me a picture of lisa at graduation. "The guy she's with, um keith, i think. How often does he hit her?" i asked looking at Nick.

"Jase, Lisa never confirmed my suspicions but she would come over with bruises. normally it was her being clumsy as the excuse but i was never sure. My guess is he hits her around as much as your dad hit you or more. I guess you went to see her?" he explained. "yeah and I watched him punch her in the face. I can't believe Lisa would put up with that." I said looking down at my hands.

"Justin now is it? lisa isn't the same girl you left behind. Billy used to sneak into the warehouse and beat her. it took us a few weeks to catch him but now he's  on death row. lisa has been broken down over the last three years. i never knew how much strength you gave her jase but i can tell you that that strength was completely beat out of her between billy and keith." nick shocked me by saying lisa depended on me for strength.

i always saw it the other way around. i depended on her. i said bye to nick and headed to the warehouse. i didn't know why but i felt like she would be there. hopefully alone.
