Shaking (Sarah Whitney x Will Target)

Chapter 12

The following day when Sarah arrived back at Horseland, she went straight over to Scarlet's stall. "Hey gurl! You up for a ride?" She asked getting nuzzled from her horse. Suddenly feeling a hand rest on her shoulder she turned around to see Will. He had hitched Jimber's reins to Scarlet's stall. "Hey, would you fancy a trail ride along with me!" He asked nearing Sarah. Thinking about all the things that could happen, Sarah couldn't help, but think she would regret turning him down. "That would be lovely. Help me put on Scarlet's tack?" Sarah replied as she went to get all the things she needed.

After getting everything ready Sarah took Scarlet out of the barn along with Jimber. Outside she met Zoey, Chloe and Bailey along with their horses. "Are you joining Will?" Bailey asked smiling softly. "Yes, he asked me if I wanted to join him. I am sure you could also come with us!" Sarah said, being as kindly as always. "No, we got some training to do. Thanks for the offer though!" Zoey said and winked at Sarah. "There is something I need to tell him actually. It's about a great friend of me. She sent me a letter the other day and she explained to me, why she hasn't contacted me in over a year. She had to put her own horse down after an accident" Sarah explained briefly as Will walked out of the barn. "Who had an accident?" He asked curiously. "I will tell you later, promise. Now come on lets get going, I can see that Jimber and Scarlet are already annoyed by your slow butt!" Sarah teased as she got up on her horse. Acting hurt Will took up his hand to his chest, before he made his way over to his horse Jimber.

Taking their time Will showed Sarah one of his favorite trails, that he used to take when he was a kid. Stepping down from their horses they took a seat at song rocks, Sarah was leaning into Will since it was much colder than they thought it would be. "My uhm friend is coming over to Horseland next week. She is going to try to go back to show jumping, but she needs to stay at Horseland to have someone to look after her horse, Karisha. It's a Friesian mare, the name means miracle. I have not had contact with me, but she told me that after a contest last year they were a few other riders that were going back to the stables, but to do so they had to pass a road. A trailer came up from a sideway and he drove straight into them. Two of her friends were killed on the impact and the horse she was riding, reared up against the truck in front of her, so she came away from the accident with a few bruises and broken ribs. Her horse a Mustang named Diego was killed and she had to go through therapy, because she was paralysed on the left side of her body. She had to learn how to walk again, how to do everything. She was told that she might not be able to ever jump again. The thing is just that, she heard about my accident, but that was not as terrible as hers and I dunno!" Sarah cried being unable to hold back the tears any longer.

"Ssh! It is alright, Sarah...I promise!" Will said sweetly as he rubbed Sarah's back to help her calm down. "Was the last horse a Friesian too? I have heard that they are elegant horses!" Will asked to not get Sarah upset. He hated to see her upset, usually she was the happiest person on Horseland. "No, the other horse was a Mustang stallion called Diego!" Sarah said sadly as she pictured Scarlet and Diego running side by side. 

**Horses Pov**

Scarlet looked over at her owner with sad eyes. It was disturbing to know, she would never get to see Diego again. Wondering how Karisha was coping with all this, she has to be devasted. "How are you coping?" Jimber asked as he looked between Will and Sarah. Scarlet turned her head so she met Jimber's eyes. "I am alright. I guess it is quite weird though. Both Sarah and her friend had to suffer from a accident with a horse. I mean Jade, Sarah's friend took care off both the horses from they were foals. Their family was not rich, but Jade always found a way to make sure the horses had it better than herself. She even made it to the Olympics with both of her horses, Diego in jumping and Karisha in show jumping. She is a bit shy though, but she is excellent in jumping and dressage!" Scarlet explained to Jimber. She had no make sure, that the rest of the horses would not get offended if she didn't speak back to them instantly.
