A/N: I know I took away longer to actually update this time so, I wanna say I'm sorry and I ran out of ideas. Hope you enjoy!

when best friends hang out, do they sit in silence together?

no, but that's what these certain four best friends were doing. all the things that had happened between them the past few days made them this way. so many secrets were held between them which is not what you do to your best friend. it's like their bond was slowly breaking, sadly.

jennie kept looking outside the window, sighing every now and then. jisoo, on the other hand, she was trying her best to figure out what could be so interesting outside at the moment that you didn't even realize that this so called hang out was the most uncomfortable thing ever.

rosé moved the ice chips in her drink around, bored as ever, but a little mesmerized by the bubbles in her drink. what a shame. this is not what best friends do when it comes to hanging out with each other. "okay, this is not what today was supposed to be like," rosé finally spoke, bringing everyone's attention to her. "we were supposed to have fun and catch up with what's been happening in our lives, not sitting here all quiet."

"okay then," jennie placed her hands in her lap, looking at jisoo to see what she had to say. "jisoo, what's been going on with you?"

"nothing." jisoo turned around, crossing her arms. when your crush is so oblivious to your feelings, there's always nothing to talk about or nothing worth saying if they don't recognize.

rosé forced a smile on her face before speaking."well, lisa and i are going to be big sisters soon."

"that's great, right?"

great?

"no, jennie. a baby shouldn't be born in our family, right now. there's so many things that need to be discussed with each other."

"is it about the whole dating thing?" jisoo asked, pitifully. you'd think that this was already talked about between the four best friends, but it wasn't. rosé and lisa strictly said they didn't wanna talk about it because it wasn't like it could get fixed. their mothers were together and by together, they meant in love.

"yeah," lisa sighed, sadly. "our parents in love with each other."

"why didn't you try and tell them before they got engaged?" jennie blindly asked. jennie, the oblivious yet striking and challenging person was still stuck on when rosé and lisa first told them about their mothers dating. she was never updated on the topic, but that's what you get when you hang out with other people majority of the time.

"you can't stop love once you see it." rosé explained, remembering the day her and lisa's mother met. the two had locked eyes with each other, lisa's mother flirting with rosé's. that day, rosé knew she messed up. big time.

"true," jennie nodded her head, side-eyeing the beautiful girl that sat next to her. "this wouldn't have happened if you would've introduced each other to your mothers."

"lisa wasn't there. it was a parent and teacher conferences, but she didn't come. my mother and i were walking home until she accidentally bumped into her."

"i didn't find out about it until rosé told me about it." lisa explained.

"wow, i'm feel so bad for you two." jennie said.

"okay, enough about us. what about you guys?" lisa crossed her arms, placing her elbows on the table.

"nothing, really." jisoo spoke first. she didn't wanna bring up what happened between the two because she wasn't happy about how it all ended. jennie was supposed to ask her to be her girlfriend, but she didn't and jisoo couldn't get over it. she's happy they made up, but something that night should have been told.

"yeah, we're fine. i realized how much i needed my best friend." jennie smiled. jisoo picked up a quick and fake smile on her face when she realized that jennie was smiling at her.

"that's it?" lisa quietly leaned over and asked rosé. jisoo heard and kicked her foot as a warning. "ouch!" lisa grabbed her foot.

"was there more to come?" jennie asked, a little flustered herself.

"no," rosé said to keep the awkwardness away. "unless you want more." rosé secretly said to lisa before they both starting chuckling together.

"please, stop." jisoo said between gritted teeth so that rose and lisa could understand that she was being serious.

"jennie, is that you?" a high pitched and way too familiar voice was heard footsteps away from their table. jennie gasped and instantly got out of her seat to hug nayeon. "i missed you at the party. why didn't come?"

"i just had to catch up on some homework, but now, i'm here and we can hang out just not today." jennie explained when she turned back around to her table. jisoo sighed and sat back in her chair. she really thought that she meant that much to jennie and that she was one step closer to being her girlfriend, but no.

"it's okay, i'll hang out with you guys, right now." nayeon smiled as she walked over to the table. jisoo looked up at her and instantly looked down. no wonder jennie didn't wanna be her girlfriend. nayeon was way prettier than her. jennie had came back with a chair for her and smiled once she was done getting settled.

"what were you guys talking about?" nayeon smiled.

"oh, nothing important so, tell me about the party." jennie replied quickly before anyone else could. jisoo felt like crying now since jennie had just called her feelings 'nothing'. jisoo sighed for the the third time, wishing that she was nayeon. nayeon had jennie whipped for her while jisoo had to sometimes beg for jennie's attention.

"oh, it was really fun, but it would have been way better if you were there." nayeon brought up the party once again that jennie was absent to. if only jennie had told the truth on why she wasn't there, jisoo would feel so much better about herself.

"i told you this already, i was doing homework." jennie lied twice, breaking jisoo's heart even more. jisoo had to stop herself from hyperventilating anytime soon at the table.

"well, i would have done it with you." nayeon said. rosé and lisa were just watching the only two girls talking at the table, completely disgusted and confused on why jennie was lying to nayeon. rosé looked over to jisoo to only see a little tear slowly rolling down her cheek. she nudged her leg under the table and signaled for her to come along with her and lisa. jisoo gladly got up from her seat and remained by lisa's side.

"hey, where are you guys going?" jennie finally decided to pay her attention to her other friends.

"jisoo's spending the night at our house and my moms want us to stop and get some groceries. we'll see you at school." rosé made up a quick--well, half of lie. jisoo was actually spending the night at their house, but they didn't need any groceries.

"oh, okay, bye." jennie went back to her conversation, not even caring if she was invited to the sleepover or not.

what a best friend.

jisoo pitifully chuckled, surprised by her best friend's actions. she made sure to walk faster to rosé's car to finally release her tears that had been held back for so long.

"jisoo, she doesn't deserve you." lisa said, turning around to face jisoo from the passenger seat.

"it's fine. i just wanna sleep." jisoo kept her head in her hands, not wanting anyone to see her.

"i think we should actually go to the store for some sweets, it'll cheer you up." rosé suggested.

jisoo wasn't even listening. she didn't care anymore.
