A/N: Happy New Year! I hope you've had an amazing year, if not, hopefully, 2019 is your year. Since it's been a long time, here's an update. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading!

rosé didn't seem to catch on as she stood, confused as to what the younger meant. "what do you mean?"

"they believe that were hiding something really big from them and i don't know if we can keep this a secret anymore."

"just calm down, panicking isn't the right think to do right now," rosé instructed, standing in front of the younger, reminding her to take a few breaths. "i don't think we should tell them. i think it's best that we remind that we're just best friends and that's all."

"but is that all?"

"i don't know." rosé shrugged her shoulders.

the room had become silent, the two girls staring at one another every now and then, waiting for either one of them to say something. lisa finally gasped, ignoring the topic. "it doesn't matter right now. right now, what matters, is that our parents are about to find out the truth."

rosé wasn't gonna lie, the fact that she had pushed the topic off did anger her and she did want to say something, but she would rather lisa bring it up. she's the reason the two are like this in the first place.

"we should maybe just pretend like everything is okay and then, tell them when it's right." lisa suggested.

"when has anything been okay, lisa?" "i—," before the younger could explain, she was interrupted when rosé spoke again. "we've been hiding ourselves ever since and i'm tired. i just want to be able to kiss you without having to worry about anything or anyone. we've done so much, maybe it's time to tell them now."

"no, are you kidding me? it's not the right time."

"so when is? better now than never."

"you don't understa—,"

"yeah, i don't understand how you're so convinced that everything is going to be okay and perfect. we need to tell them." rosé demanded.

"i just don't want to see our parents hurt."

"and i get that, lisa, but the longer we wait, the more pain it will bring them because they will feel like they've been bad parents to us."

lisa was silent because the older did, in fact, have a point. from the day they got married to the day the young couple would tell them the truth, which could be today, their mothers would blame themselves for everything. blame themselves for the young couple not being able to love one another like they've always wanted, blame themselves for all the troubles they've brought to the young couple, it was a long list.

"okay, so, know what?"

"we tell them."

meanwhile, the married couple stood on the other side of the door, listening and following along as the two stepsisters spoke. "i knew they were hiding something from us." rosé's mother spoke, standing from her spot beside the door.

"i can't believe it," lisa's mother stood, shook and bewildered. "our girls have been hiding this from us for a long time. it must've been so hard for them to do that." she rubbed her belly, staring at it in confusion. what about the baby?

"honey, you heard them, they didn't want to hurt us. i think it's best if we don't interrupt and let them come to us." lisa's mother comforted the woman, massaging her shoulders and placing strands of hair behind the woman's ear.

"i mean, what about the baby? us? what are we supposed to do?"

she sighed, tears reaching the end of her eyes and gliding down her pink cheeks. "are we just supposed to live and pretend to be a family like our kids haven't dated before all of this?"
