The tent was finally done after hours of hunting, then skinning and cleaning and finally assembling. It was a small tent. Big enough for a bed and some belongings like weapons and clay pots. Outside Breeze had made an actual fire pit by placing stones in a circle. Their surroundings were mostly just dry ground with a little river nearby and the forest that stood in the distance. A field is what Breeze had been looking for. It had all that they needed and was far away from any tribe. It was safe. Safe for Kaliam and their unborn child.
Breeze now sat on a log outside. The fire crackled in front of him. He was making a spear and was carving the wood for it. Kaliam slept inside as he did. It was always peaceful in the fields with the soft sound of the rushing waters of the river and the breeze running through the grass and making the feathers on the two front strands of Breeze's hair sway. Nothing bad ever happened since the day they came. Until...
"Get off me!" Breeze growled swinging whoever tried attacking him over his shoulder. The hooded person skidded to a halt. A net was in one hand and a dagger in the other. They made a dash for it, but Breeze threw his own dagger into the persons back leg. They fell with a thud and cried out in pain. Breeze rolled the person over in their back. "Who are you?" He held a knife inches away from the males neck. The male chuckled. A small gash on their lip from falling. "Tell me, damn it!"
"You know it's a sin for you and the young boy to of mated." Breeze glared down at him. His eyes glowing. The male coughed up blood by Breeze pressing hard on his chest, cracking some ribs. "That child shouldn't be born. We'll kill the boy and his child before he can even birth it! Who knows what will come of this forbidden child!"
"Shut up you scum." Breeze growled, quickly slicing his throat. Breeze wiped the blood off, ticking the blade away.
"Breeze!" Breeze ran off for the tent to see Kaliam sitting up in bed, clutching his slightly bigger belly. He looked frightened and was shaking as Breeze knelt down beside him. "T-there was a creature in here." He held  onto Breeze, gripping tight onto his long hair. "It had grabbed onto me.."
"It's alright." Kaliam was shaking violently. Breeze rubbed his back to comfort him. "It's gone now." Kaliam tucked his head into Breeze's armpit. "It's gone.."
Breeze stayed inside watching over Kaliam as he slept. The soft blanket he made specially for Kaliam had been thrown to the side. Kaliam was cuddled in a tiny ball. Probably trying to protect his baby. Breeze looked over from his wood working. He smiled, getting up and placing the blanket over Kaliam again. He stopped suddenly, moving the blanket a bit to see if he really saw what he thought he saw. There, on Kaliam's side was a burn mark. A circle with the infinity symbol in the middle. The symbol of the faeye. Breeze finished tucking in Kaliam. His expression was serious now. He kissed his forehead before grabbing a knife and heading outside. He sprinkled herbs around the perimeter of the tent to ward off evil spirits and then made his way to the forest. It was a quick walk to find a nice tree. Breeze climbed up it, sitting quietly in it. He looked down at the blade in his hand. The handle was old and the leather around it was coming off. He sighed, looking up at the sky.
"I'm so sorry, Kaliam." He lifted the blade up to around his collarbone and neck. "I know you would forgive me."
It's a bit shorter than the others, but I wanted to leave this at a cliff hanger. You're welcome~! 😉
