It was one of those days where you wake up and you know something is about to happen to you. Obviously something will happen to you but that feeling that something bad will happen. That feeling leaves goosebumps up and down the legs. Lets off shivers all the way down from the neck to the end of the spine.

That morning Reece woke up and did his routine of getting breakfast in line for himself. He went to work that morning. That first week of work was hard and this was his last training day.

He met Blake and yeah that was great yet he had a feeling he couldn't and shouldn't take the offer to go the party.

However around the time he should leave he found himself thinking about it. He went to his fathers room and then knocked n his door. He opened the door and then smiled, "hey Dad."

"Oh hey Reece," Keith came from behind his desk and computer and then smiled, "what's going on?"

Reece pointed with his thumb out and then replied, "just got home. I am planning on going to a little bonfire tonight with a few seniors. I'm just letting you know."

"Oh yeah that should be fine. It is eight so maybe tuck in Lucy before you go and don't forget I have surgery tommrow so you're my driver of the day."

"Yeah I will remember. Rest good tonight Dad. You had dinner right?"

Reece pulled the door back a little and then his father nodded. Reece shut the door and his father hollered at him, "don't party to hard!"

With that Reece hollered back, "no promises!" he shook his head and chuckled a little.

In that moment Reece felt something strange. Usually his father wouldn't allow for him to do these types of things all of the time. He didn't even have a car yet his father trusted him to drive his tomorrow. Why all of the suddenly Reece had these privileges that he usually never had?

He shook the thought away and went to Lucy's room. Lucy laughed as he made the entrance over dramatic and acted like a monster, "I'm going to eat your brains," he walked like a zombie and then went to her bed. Lucy was giggling and sitting up in her bed until Reece got to the side of her bed and sat down.

"How is my favorite girl in thee world doing this fine night?" Reece wiggled his eyebrow up and down and Lucy giggled again until she smiled with her top two toothless smile.

"Good. I took a bath and got on my pajamas," she had on a pink pair and Reece poke her belly that was covered with her blanket.

"I see that. Did Dad already tell you goodnight?"

She nodded.

"Well alright then. I guess it's my turn?"

She smiled and nodded excitedly, "please sing the believe song!"

Reece looked at her puzzled and then smiled, "the believe song?"

"The believe song! The believe song!" Lucy chanted and then added with a small murmur," you the song that goes," she micmiced Reece's voice or what she thought sounded like it, "I know it won't be easy, what a thing, to believe in a dream."

Reece chuckled and then nodded. He grabbed his guitar which was on the stand in the corner of her room. This guitar was dedicated to only her songs and Reece had other guitars. She even had this guitar named and she really loved it when her brother played for her. It was a nightly thing they did ever since she was a baby almost.

He started to strum the chords and then lowly starts to sing her favorite verse of the song," perhaps I know long ago. I wrote her poems at nine years old. But then I did become a man The letter lipped right through my hands."

She sunked back into her bed and then was mesmerized by the words he was singing.

"-I learned the depths of love and hate but never did learn how to wait."

He kept singing and as he did he closed his eyes. He thought of Kathy. The girl he admired so much. The summer i about to end and he will see her again but oh gosh he just wants to get to know her and see her.

"A girl who doesn't come along. Because she's already where I'm goin'," he sang and then sat down on the bed again. He finished the song and then put the guitar on the bed.

"Reecey," lucy said and then she smiled, "you are my best friend."

"Friends come and go but siblings. Brothers and sisters are forever," Reece looks at his sister and then runs his hand across her hair. "Promise me that."

"Reecey I am six years old. I don't need you tell me. I know," Lucy sinks more into her bed and then smiles at her brother. "I promise."

Reece smirks and then nods. He kisses her head really quick, "yeah I know, right. Okay have a good night,"

"You too." she replied and then covered herself up all the way.

Reece put away the guitar and then went to the doorway. He looked back at Lucy and then wondered to himself. What would it be like to be in her shoes? A small six year old with a brother like him? To protect him and guide him.

Reece shut the light off and then closed the door on his way out. He sighed and then went to his room. He got ready for the bonfire and he sprayed a bunch of cologne on before going out of the house to his bike.

He knew the area of the beach where the party was held and he knew the house that the person in front of the lot was staying at. What it must have been like to have ocean front property.

He parked his bike in a safe spot and then as he was walking up he felt that shiver again similiar to the one he got that morning.

He harldy recognized anyone at first and then Parker showed up.

"England!"

"Wait for me. I know it won't be easy. What a thing to believe in a dream. I believe in a dream."

Reece takes off his headphones and put them on his night stand. Today marks the eighth day that lucy didn't want him to tuck her in. He replays the song before he goes to bed at night. Not like the other song he only keeps to himself. But this song. This was a special song between him and Lucy and now he is afraid that bond is broken.

Maybe he went to far this time. Maybe this is slowly driving him insane and he needs to stop worrying. It was his fault.

He knew it. Of course it was.

The bond wasn't the only thing that Reece broke. He shattered the guitar right in front of her eyes. She cried that night and when Reece demanded her to open the door she didn't. He was having another attack and no one was around to help him recover afterward.

A man's mind is only as thick as the woods and Reece Collins has an overabundance plantation of elms. The elms are higher and wider than any eyes could ever see or witness yet Reece let's no one trespass the woods that grow deep in his subconscious. For if they do there is no way to escape.

He himself has no escape. Not even the one he thought he could love would give him the will to carry on and venture away through the darkness he let himself in.

No not even Kathy...
