Chapter 17

Karsyn's hair was as silver as moon light, and her eyes glowed white. Lancer struggled against her single hand and he was shaking with effort. The other Servants watched with fear and worry. She was a Goddess and they had all disrespected her.

"You are not even truly living," she snarls voice powerful. "You are nothing but a ghost of who you were." She uses her other hand and smacks Lancer away, making him fly across the arena and roll to a stop. Her silver gaze falls to Zenu who still has his golden demi-god before him looking just as scared.

"Please..." he begs and her laugh is like thunder.

"You have always been weak, and nothing will change that." She tells him and the blade glows brighter as her grip tightens. "But you shall understand true pain." The blade rises and it falls.

White light explodes around everyone and they wait stunned for it to fade. When it does they see Sapphire with his scythe as his body glowed blue and red, and Nick was beside her, a hand on her shoulder; a black energy coming off of him.

"Give her back," Nick snarled his energy crawling onto her now pale white skin.

"No." She seethes and they are thrown back.

"GIVE HER BACK TO ME!" Nick thundered and created a black blade, Sapphire by his side as they charged at her.

"She's mine," The Goddess says and the earth grabs them both holding them in place. "But if I were to harm either of you she'd have my head." A dark humorless chuckle came from her.

"LET HER GO!" Nick screamed voice breaking and you could see the pain both in Sapphire and Nick's eyes.

"Oh enough," her clothes changed into an elegant backless white gown with a white shawl that hung loosely on her arms. "You men are so clingy and passionate. It helps me realize how annoying you are all, but a pretty face does attract such attention sadly." Her smile is playing with death, but truth is held in her words.

"You have her teacher Nicholas, her friend who loves to challenge her Sapphire, the Servant Archer, the Servant Lancer, and this pathetic boy Zenu." The Goddess lists off the guys who loved her and only the ones who they knew of. "She will always attract men like you and it does not help that she holds the same cursed mark on her cheek as Lancer." Lancer shifts uncomfortably at that but she keeps talking. "You all find her so beautiful, so powerful, so alluring that you follow her heels like puppies. You only care for her because of her beauty and of her power." She finishes and pauses as the earth explodes around Nick. He stands unharmed and free, while his eyes hold murder.

"You are wrong," he snarls flying at her. She dodges his attack and forms a white sword in her hand while he forms one in his. Their swords clash and they move like the wind around the arena. "She is kind, always there to help others before herself. She'd risk her life even those she hated!" Nick snarls into her face.

"You only care about her power!" The Goddess argues anger radiating off her.

"I could care less about her power. I would still protect her even if she was more powerful than the God of Gods! I would still be by her side if she was as weak and delicate as a flower." Tears pricked his eyes as he recounted their moments together. "I loved the first time I heard her laugh, the first time she gushed over a book she loved, the way she watched the sunset and even how she got mad at the TV like a child. I love her more than anything in the world, and nothing could change that!" The Goddess faltered as Karsyn pushed to take control. "She is my world and I will never give her up. She could not want me but I'd still be there for her. She could kill me and I'd be happy it was her!" He confessed so much that it made the place silent. Archer and Lancer knew she felt the same wondered why she had left to join the Church if he was here.
