Chapter 10!
I'm back with another chapter! Enjoy!
Karsyn POV
"I'm surprised we've made so little progress with these things." Lancer says voice tired. We stood back to back weapons at the ready.
"It's the grimoire, Lancer." Saber says.
"As long as he holds that Noble Phantasm our situation will not improve." I further explain and reload my gun.
"I see... so that's his secret. Of course if you plan to knock that book out of the pale freaks hands, you'll need to get by the wall of monsters first." Lancer says and I look over at him to find his gaze on my neck, my faces heats up when I realize he is looking at the Hickey Archer had left on me. I look away as his eyes move to mine.
"Lancer, what do you say to taking an all-or-nothing gamble?" Saber offers and he looks her way.
"It feels a bit shameful but there is no glory in fighting these things. Very well count me in, Saber." Lancer smiles at her and I ready my sword.
"I shall clear a path for you. We shall have but one chance at this. Lancer, can you run on the wind?" she asks him and he chuckles slightly at her words.
"I understand you. It is but child's play." We all face Castor as we ready ourselves.
"Have you said your prayers? Tremble down to your soul. Sink into despair. Superior skill can only be defeated by so many before being overwhelmed by sheer numbers." He laughs and covers his eyes with his hand. "It must be humiliating. You will die suffocated under a horde of monsters that know nothing of honor or glory. There can be no greater disgrace for a hero! Oh that beautiful face of yours, make it twist in pain for me, Jeanne!" The monsters all launch themselves at us and Saber raises her sword.
"Strike Air!" A golden sword is visible as a beam of golden white light cuts through all the monsters. Lancer runs through the open tube towards Castor who stand still from shock.
"Prepare to die!" Lancer shouts cutting through a few monsters. "Strike Home! Gae Dearg!" He slashes through Castors book and all the creatures explode into blood.
"Damn you...damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you!!!" Castor screams in complete anger and pain.
"Did you like that? Had Saber suddenly gained the use of her left hand, this would have been the result." Lancer mocks and I move to another side of Castor so we have him surrounded.
"Prepare to die. Monster." Saber says and Castor stares at her. His face contorts into one of absolute anger and hatred. Explosions could be heard from the castle. Diarmuid gasps in shock from something we could not sense while Saber lunges toward Castor.
"Your struggles are in vain!" she yells raising her invisible sword. The blood rushes into the air and creates a mist. It clears and Castor is gone.
"Coward." I sneer under my breathe.
"How cowardly can he get?" Saber snaps.
"Lancer, is something wrong?" I ask and he stares at me before casting his gaze to the ground.
"It's my Master, he is in danger. It seems he left me here and breached the castle by himself." He breathes out saddened and I find myself taking a step towards the servant, wishing to comfort him. I stop myself and bite my cheek. I was not to have emotions, they harmed my thoughts when in battle and by being in this war they were waking up. After all these years, they were back.
