---Kaitlyn's POV---

I walked into my house.

"Kaitlyn Reed! Where the hell have you been, young lady? Answer me! NOW!" My dad growled at me. This is why I hate being home.

"Um, I was at Sonny's house," I lied. Sonny is my best friend.

"You mean you snuck out?" My mom asked, glaring at me through her thick-rimmed glassses.

I sighed. "Yes, I did. I just can't stand hearing you guys fight!"

I broke down into tears.

"Well, this is the last time you're going to hear us fight," My mom said.

"What do you mean?"

"We need to talk Kait," My dad said and we sat down on the dinner table.

"Your father and I are divorcing. We just can't agree on the same things anymore. I'm so sorry, honey. It just wasn't meant to be."

I wasn't even surprised. I already knew this was coming. It made me angry. I stood up.

"How could you give up so easily? You guys love each other! Work things out!" I protested.

"Kaitlyn, please calm down! We know you're upset, but we've already made the decision and filed the papers. Just promise that when you're a grown woman you'll find a husband you are going to love forever and you won't have to go through this," my mom said and held my hand. I was furious at them.

"Fine. I just can't believe that this is happening," I said and stormed off to my room.

I picked up my cell phone and called Sonny. I told her about the whole situation.

"I'm really sorry, Kait. I'm here for you, though."

"Thanks, Sonny," I said. Our conversation went from being about that to a ton of other random crap.

My cell phone beeped, signaling it was on low battery. I had spent almost an hour talking to Sonny!

"Gotta go!" I said and hung up. I love Sonny. She's been my best friend before I could even say her name. I've always envied her. She has the perfect life with a lot of brothers amd sisters and a mom and dad that loved her. She is also super gorgeous. She has pale skin and jet black hair with hazel eyes. Her mom even lets her put on makeup, something my mom won't let me do until I'm probably like thirty.

If there was one person I want to talk to right now, it's Chris, the boy I met last night. I couldn't stop thinking about him. Another kid that's going through the same things as me is what I need.

I might also be attracted to him. But only a little. I mean, how could you not love his messy blonde hair, big green eyes and sweet smile? Sadly I have to wait until tonight to see him.

---Chris's POV---

Kaitlyn. The only thing that had been on my mind. I stepped into my house where my sister, Hannah was sitting on the couch watching TV and eating cereal. She always gets up way earlier than everyone else.

"Where were you, Chris?"

"I was taking a morning walk. You better not tell mom or dad about this or I'll kill you!"
