Who said a girl can't love again || Baekhyun fanfic

-closer than before-

Haneul's POV

It has been almost one hour since kris left, Junmyeon had left with Yixing and Luhan at the same time , it was now me , Baekhyun, Sehun, Tao,Chanyeol, Jongin,Jondgae, Kyungsoo,Miseok and the girls,we aere still sitting in the backyard, laughing and enjoying the nice chilly weather outside .

After a few minutes, Jongdae, Kyungsoo, Tao,Jongin and Sehun decided to leave since they all had work to do in the morning and i don't know why i lost track of time as i sat with the girls , they bid us goodbye and each one of them left leaving only me , Chanyeol,Sooyeon, Baekhyun, Minseok and Minkyung.

When i was talking with Minkyung and Sooyeon i noticed that Chanyeol and Minseok were laughing along with with Baekhyun, then our eyes met again, i felt incredibly awkward and turned so fast my neck almost twisted; to finish my conversation with the girls , who were gossiping and stuff.

We kept talking for a while , when Chanyeol came and held Sooyeon's hand "i think it's time to leave now babe , right?", she gave us a puppy frown and bid us goodbye as well .

Baekhyun's POV

Chanyeol and Sooyeon went home, and left only the four of us in the house , i saw Haneul standing against the metal grips in the balcony, her head up probably staring at the moon , since she wasn't wearing enough clothes i went to her , took of my jacket off and placed it slightly over her shoulders ,she was slightly startled and turned to me , when she realised it was just me i heard her mumble " Thank you"

we stood there , both staring at the moon without saying anything when suddenly my phone rang , i answered , it was Kris . I frowned surprised to see his name on the screen .

"hey dude , what's up ?" ,

"hey man , is Haneul still there?" he asked

Haneul turned to look at me probably wondering who it was .

"ah yeah , she is still here with me" i answered ,

" Cool , i was worried , can you take her home in your way, if you don't mind?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure , i was going to anyways",

"thanks Baekhyun , can i talk to her ", i handed her the phone not knowing why i grew disappointed

" it's Kris" , she took the phone with a smile while i just watched her talking to him ,

"hey Kris, have you gotten home safely"

it was sincere , you could tell she was really worried about him and at that moment i wished i was in his place so badly for some reasons i didn't know or perhaps ignored , or was afraid to admit . I stood there listening to their conversation , she was smiling and i smiled too

observing her this close made me realise that i really did have a crush on her , no matter how much i tried to deny it .

Their conversation had ended and Haneul handed me the phone smiling lightly . She was still standing there and i was right near her , when she finally mumbled "i think it's finally time to go home now that i am relieved " , i nodded and we went to say bye to the others .

Haneul's POV

The atmosphere was back to being awkward in the car , i felt the urge to break the silence but i couldn't or maybe i didn't know how i could break it so i just sat there in the passenger seat .

Baekhyun finally talked " i hope you don't mind me not talking much when i am driving since it's night i would probably focus rather than get into an accident or something" , then he looked at me and smiled , i shook my hand "no don't worry about me , just focus on the road " i smiled back , " yeah , i will",

" oh yeah , thank you very by the way , for the ride i mean, "; i mumbled, "no , no need to thank me Haneul , we are friends right?" , "yeah we are".

It was the last thing i said before getting off when we got there .

Although it wasn't much conversation it felt like we grew closer than before somehow , after all and during all these years we hadn't had enough time to get acquianted and i was glad at least we got to , it made me think about how much of great friends we would have been if i had paid more attention to how nice he acted toward me , i was at some point regretful .
