Noah had been at the house for just over a fortnight now, and fit in really well. He enjoyed spending time with Olive the most which she also liked, however Enoch wasn't pleased as he had no one to talk to when she was gone and there was no way he was going to join them and third wheel.
It was nauseating how Noah pined over Olive the whole time; it was obvious she wasn't interested in him but he couldn't take a hint. Olive was too gentle to tell him though so had to put up with his flirting.

Enoch had come outside to see if he could find Olive. She had just finished her washing up duties and he overheard that she was going to meet Noah in the garden. He thought it was suspicious how Noah was nowhere to be seen but Fiona said she had seen him walking down by her vegetable garden a few minutes ago. Enoch spotted Olive's unmissable red hair and sure enough, she was walking down to the far end of the garden, where the vegetables and shed were.

"Olive. I need to talk to you," Enoch stated. He didn't want her to go and wished she'd stay with him.
"I'm just just going to meet Noah. Can this wait till later? I'm already late, sorry," Olive said distractedly and turning away.

"Olive," he called, holding on to her arm to stop her from going. She turned to face him and he carried on.
"Just be careful of Noah. I don't like him."

Olive sighed and told him not to worry. Enoch kept going on at her to be careful of Noah, ever since he arrived, but Olive thought he was just jealous. She had been spending time with Noah as well as him, and Enoch didn't like having to share her attention. It was childish of him to try and sabotage her spending time with Noah but Olive didn't want to be mean, so she assured him everything would be fine.

"I'm just saying, you're too nice and I don't want him to take advantage of your kindness. You never know what he might do. He could upset you or-"
"Enough!" Olive cut him off. He had never heard her raise her voice like this before.
"I am quite capable to look after myself and Noah would never be horrible. You're jealous."
She pulled her arm free of his grasp and stormed away from him.

Enoch watched her small frame run down to the end of the garden, where she had said she would be meeting Noah. He felt awful. He hadn't meant to upset her and was just trying to be a good friend. Now Olive was mad at him and he had no one to talk to. Enoch walked back inside and sat in his room, knowing he wouldn't be disturbed.
