The next morning, Hugh woke up first as usual and crept out of the room quietly as Millard was still snoring. Fiona was just leaving the room she shared with Emma to make some green tea for the others. She saw Hugh and smiled at him, who grinned back. They were often the first two awake and enjoyed their talks in the kitchen as they weren't disturbed in the morning. Fiona still had the key to the kitchen which she had locked up last night.
She unlocked the door and the sight which met them brought a smile to both of the children's faces. Enoch was stretched out on his back and Olive had her head on his chest. Not to mention she was wearing his jacket. Their arms were round each other and the pair looked so peaceful that Fiona was reluctant to wake them.
"They are gonna be in so much trouble if Miss Peregrine finds out," Hugh said. Fiona heard someone moving around upstairs so decided to wake the two up quickly before Miss P found them like this. Olive blushed when she realised it wasn't a pillow that her head was on but she secretly liked it and the smiles from both of them were evident."Maybe I should..."
"Yeah I'll just..."
Enoch and Olive stuttered awkwardly and went upstairs to their separate rooms to get ready before breakfast. Hugh and Fiona smiled knowingly and promised they wouldn't tell Miss Peregrine.Olive had so much on her mind; Noah had kissed her, she had broken his nose and now he was gone. Then there was her strange headache and her passing out. And now Enoch. She didn't know what to think of Enoch, she felt closer to him these last few days than she had ever done before and the way they had woken up this morning - well she definitely felt something more than friendship towards him.
Enoch was blushing. He never blushed. Olive made him feel strange, but a good strange. It was just a new feeling. He was so protective of her and waking up with her in his arms made his heart rush and his head spin. He wanted to be at her side every minute, yet at the same time he needed to be as far away from her as possible, so not to embarrass himself or her. Why was love this difficult?
It was clear he liked Olive, and she seemed to feel some kind of attraction towards him. He wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend but he was too shy and stubborn to do it. He needed advice and when it came to relationships, there was only one person for it...Emma. Maybe Enoch could speak to Emma, she was also Olive's best friend so maybe she knew if Olive felt the same way about him.
