Maddie's POV:

I walked down the busy streets of London. The noise constant and the people more silent than I remember. I walked down a bit further until I reached a house that I knew all too well.

I hesitated slightly before knocking on the dark oak door with the number 227. There was a slight wait before the door slowly creaked opened. A girl stood there her hair a light brown, her eyes bright blue. Her features friendly towards me. I know this young lady very well. "Maddie?" I looked up to the lady and smiled slightly "Hello Juliana" her smile became wide as she helped me in. "How long has it been?" she asked, taking me into the living room. I sighed before answering her internal questions "Juliana it's only been three years" she looked rather hurt "And not a single phone call or letter. Not even ONE!" Her voice grew louder and she became tensed. I couldn't help but notice a small bulge in her stomach. I didn't know if I should ask or not if she is in fact pregnant. In social situations you wouldn't ask right?

I cleared my throat before I spoke "So how is married life?" I felt a sudden awkward tickle in the pit of my stomach. "Its fine." Juliana said her voice low and rather quiet. "Anything new?" I added trying to keep this from going south "I'm pregnant" she answered. I felt a sudden lift off my shoulders and joy in my heart, I smiled at Juliana "Congrats Juliana. I'm happy for you" she gave me a warming smile that I loved so dearly. "Thanks. I'm three months in" I just nodded and sat in silence for a minute or two. "So." I just simply said, a moment later Juliana answered "Why didn't you come back?" her voice almost breaking "I was scared. Worried. I guess scared to disappoint everyone again." I stared down. I was lying through my teeth here.

"But look at you. Your so famous." she walked over to me slowly giving me a signal to hug her. So I did. "God I've missed you" she hummed in response. I felt tears roll down my cheeks.

Juliana was my oldest and wisest friend. She has a family and a perfect life. Oh how I envy her.
