Chapter 22 - Accidents

Maddie's POV:

It has been two days since mine and Benedict's little fight. I was now walking down the slightly empty streets at 11 PM. It was colder than usual. I had my head phones was listening to 'The Last Time' by Taylor Swift. How ironic. I go through my contacts and press Benedicts number. We need to talk.

I start crossing the road then everything happened quickly. First I was turning my head to the light the next I am plunged into darkness.

Benedict's POV:

I was finishing up on set. The last scene for The Hobbit. The final part.

Martin was discussing how we should have a party. I couldn't be bothered. "Hey Ben are you alright?" he asked sounding worried. "She left" I answer simply trying not to give anything away.

"Why" Martin leaned in to listen carefully. "I left her on the Graham Norton show when she announced that she would be returning to New York on Thursday. I was annoyed. Then when I got my senses she told me that if I asked she would of stayed" I huff at the heart break of Maddie leaving. Again.

"Your such a moron sometimes Benedict" Martin sounded pissed at me. I gave him a confused look. "Maddie was going back to New York to sell her apartment. Her agent told Amanda last night." It suddenly sunk in. Shit. "What about the question oh wise one. What did she mean by that?!" I needed information. "She was talking about the proposal you moron" he snapped. Oh. Fuck I was so busy about her leaving that I didn't notice.

Suddenly my phone start ringing and it's a unknown number. I answer it "Hello?" I ask uncertain. "Hello is this Mr Cumberbatch" a woman's voice was on the other end. "Yes hello." I answer quickly. "I am a nurse at the local hospital. We got your number off our most recent patient normally known as Maddie. " fuck. Maddie was in the hospital. "What has happened?!" I was panicking. My Maddie could be hurt. "Her phone was smashed and was frozen on your contact. We are sorry to inform you that Maddie has been in a horrific accident. She was hit by a speeding car." everything happened slowly.

Martin gets up and helps me stand. "I-is she okay?" I stutter. Pain was burning in my chest. As if someone was burning my heart over and over again. "She is in intensive care after her operation to contain some blood" She didn't sound very worried. "How long will she be!!" I almost shout "About another few hours. Three maybe four. But Mr Cumberbatch at the moment she is dying!" My breathing was rapid. "I'm on my way" I snap and hang up.

"Ben what's happened?" Martin asked. Looking panicked. "Maddie has been in a accident. She is dying from blood loose"
