Benedict's POV:
I felt numb again as I pulled up to a bar. I pushed through a group of people as finally got to the Bar tender. "Alright mate?" he asked his London accent thick as mud. "Yes. Can I have a vodka shot please" he nodded. He poured the white liquid into the clear glass. "leave the bottle" I mumbled. The bar tender thought for a moment and then left me with the bottle.
After five or six shots I could feel the drunk side of me coming already.
"Hey handsome." a woman slurred into my ear. I brushed her off. "C'mon honey" she slurred again. "I'm not in the mood" I snapped, she huffed. "God" she cursed as she walked off. "rough night Ben?" A familiar voice rang "Go away' I snapped again. " No. Ben you need help." I turned to see Tom. "I dont" I huffed. "Ben. I didn't mean for you to end up like this. I didn't know she never had a relationship." my ears rang to the word 'she' "Fuck off. what do you mean" I asked in confusion. "Me and Graham both kind of put you and Maddie together. But there was a complicated part." it finally hit me. "That's....." I couldn't finish my sentence "what complication" I urged him to carry on. "Well she never had been in love. Then we read on her history. We kind of realised that.....she wasn't exactly telling us the truth about her parents and who she was."
Silence became between us "What do you mean" I asked.
"Well Maddie's parents she told us they died. Well they didn't. They gave her up. She invented the fact that her Dad was a drunk and her Mum couldn't keep the three jobs she had on. Her mum became a stripper a hooker and a actress. We dont know what happened to them but we do know where they are." I was silent after Tom spoke.
"I'm taking you home"
I stumbled to his car. My heart aching.
