I sat in my bed wide awake the next morning.
Tucked away under the covers, it was nearly 6:30 in the morning, and for the life of me- I couldn't fall back asleep. After last night's adventure with Dakota, his sudden change in temperature, and the cold dismissal. I shuddered at the thought of it.
I haven't seen him act like this. So cold towards me, emotionless even. I needed to find out the reason behind it, along with the rest of things I needed to find out for myself. I shook my head at my own thoughts, Dakota and his PMS symptoms should be lower on that list, with Aurora and future Princess Serene a bit higher.
I looked over at Blythe on the bed parallel to mine. She was sleeping soundlessly, her dark hair covering her face, and her features completely stilled. I wish I could be sleeping right now, it would take a barricade to stop all my thoughts from running through my mind. I touched my hand to my cool forehead, rubbing at my temples.
Today was also the luncheon with all the important chancellor representatives, according to Headmistress Belcourt. I was supposed to play the role of the lost princess, graceful, and to acknowledge the role that I'm supposed to play in this mess called my life.
Did I want to play a role in this?
My hand went subconsciously to my snowflake necklace, the last momento from my biological mother. She went to such great lengths in ensuring that I would be protected from this world, ripped away from my powers and the people that had once murdered her in cold blood. I wondered what she would say now, seeing that the cats out of the bag, and that I would now be thrust into the spotlight of the Magick realm.
I rolled over to my side and forced my eyes shut. If I got at least another hour of sleep, I could stop my mind from racing and be a little less tired in English Lit.
I didn't get any sleep.
When the alarm clock rang at 7:30, my mind was wide-awake but my body didn't seem to comprehend. I rolled out of bed before Blythe, who growled like she usually did this early in the morning. She rolled to her side and didn't seem like she would get up for breakfast.
"Wake up Blythe" I grumbled, trudging over to the bathroom to splash some cold water onto my face.
I felt instantly refreshed and wiped my face clean in the mirror, I stared at my messy silver strands and piercing steel eyes that gazed back at me. I wondered if I looked like Aurora? Or my father? My eyes went down to the snowflake necklace and I sighed, putting down the towel and reaching for my uniform which was crumpled in a heap on the ground.
On the uniform was on and my teeth was brushed, I plaited my hair quickly. Blythe was on the other side of the door, uniform on, and looking very irritated. She was so not a morning person.
