(this is what I think Apsen's bio mom looks like, Queen Aurora Borealis)

Blythe and I both felt somber all evening.

After my run-in with Dakota, I consuming my mind with homework and Calculus to distract myself from our plan tonight. Blythe wasn't planning to sleep but I took a quick one hour nap to give me the strength needed for tonight. I rolled over in my bed, leaning on my side, back pressed up against the wall, and looked at Blythe who was currently seated on her bed with her laptop perched on her lap. She was furiously typing away.

"What're you doing?" I ask softly.

The typing ceased and she looked up at me, a grim smile touched her lips.

"Just school stuff. Are you nervous for tonight?" She asked.

I didn't say anything in response, I just nodded and snuggled deeper under the covers as if it was my suit of armour- protecting me from the outside world.

"Everything that's happened at Thornhill- I just never expected my life to go like this" I admit.

"I can imagine, you were human a month ago"

"And now I have a kingdom to run, people to please, and a serial killer who may or may not be hot on my trail" I ran my hands through my hair and let out a deep sigh.

"Do you think its actually him? James Westley, I mean" She scrunched up her nose and closed her laptop, putting it off to the side and rested her head on her hands.

"I think so. It has to be. The council kept talking about how the Circle is back, and that we need to employ troops, I think even they are pretty scared of what's been happening" I say. Blythe nods, her eyes flicker to the clock on the nightstand. 9:58 it read. Only two more hours until they had to sneak off into the basement, into the dungeons and tunnel system underneath the school. I wasn't even sure where we would go. Nobody has been down there before. Did we even have a flashlight?

"Do we have a flashlight?"

Blythe stands up and walks over to her desk, she takes out two large flashlights and smiles at me. "Got em covered" She said.

"Is my Dad scared- of the Circle I mean" Blythe asks.

"I think they all are. Your Dad seems to be a tough guy, I don't think he likes me very much"

Blythe smiles to herself,f tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, "He doesn't like a lot of people. I think he feels threatened by you, he's always been big on power. I think he secretly wishes that Vasilisa would die so he could have a chance to be crowned King".

"Power does that to people, it happened to Lance and James Westley" I admit, Blythe looks away for a second then back to my face with a small smile.
