I had been released from the hospital a couple hours after I had woken up. Pete had hounded me everyday for the past 3 days to take my medicine and rest. Quite honestly, I was getting sick and tired of his worrying. "Can you just leave me alone?" He looked shocked, then frustrated. "You're suffocating me. I haven't been able to breathe since I got out of the hospital." He just backed away and left me for awhile. "What's his problem?" "He's pissed cause I told him to back off. I felt claustrophobic." Pat nodded in understanding. "Go get dressed, we have sound check." I climbed off the couch and sulked to the bathroom. It's not like I'm sad about seeing them practice, its just that I haven't slept since the accident and I don't want their music to put me to sleep.
I pulled on some shorts and a cropped sweater. I did my makeup and shit. I packed a backpack with the usual things and went to my bunk for my Converse. "Are you okay?" I turned and saw Josh and Tyler standing in the bunk area. "Yeah I'm okay. I'm assuming that they already went onto stage?" They nodded, escorting me off the bus and toward the venue. I rolled my eyes at the need of 'bodyguards'. The venue is literally across from the bus. I walked into the venue and took the seat in the back by Brendon and Dallon. "Hey boo, how have you been feeling?" "I feel like I can't breathe. Pete won't leave me alone and he has assigned people to watch me or take me to places. It's getting quite annoying." "Do want us to talk to him?" "Pat already tried." "He'll back down soon. He's just worried. Speaking of which, are you sleeping?" "Not since the accident." Brendon looked at Dallon then back at me. "You need to sleep. Pat's soundcheck will take about 2 hours and then it's Ty's. How about we take you to our bus and you sleep? We'll be there the whole time." I shrugged and looked at Pete on the stage. "Alright. I'll go tell him." I stood up from my chair and walked toward the stage. "Hey Dad, Brendon offered to take me to his bus to get some sleep." They stopped talking and looked at me. "Alright, set an alarm for 4:30. I want you back here at 4:45."
I turned and nodded at Brendon. I jogged over to where he and Ryan stood. "Dallon is already back at the bus. Let's go join him." I jumped on Brendon's back and laid my head on his shoulder. "Are you afraid of freaking out again?" I nodded and shyly hid my face in his neck. "We'll be there to help if you do freak out. I promise." He walked onto his bus and set me in his bunk. "Get some sleep amd we'll wake you at 4 to eat." I snuggled into his blanket and quickly fell into a much needed deep sleep.
"Ty, wake up." I rolled over and looked at Brendon with wide eyes. "Monsters?" I shook my head. "You just scared me." He smiled guiltly and moved to let me crawl out of the bunk. "Hey sleepy head. How'd you sleep?" I shrugged. "I feel dead but slightly better." I sat down at the table and Ryan slid some McDonald's over into my view. "Thanks for the food." "Pete brought it. He knew you'd be hungry when you woke up." I nodded and bit into a fry. "The concert starts in an hour. Our soundcheck ended half an hour ago, Ty and Josh were here just in case you woke up." I finished the food and stood up for a drink. "Do you guys have any coffee?" Dallon opened the fridge and pulled out a starbucks coffee with my name on it. "Thanks Dally. I'm going to go freshen up my fugly ass and I'll be out." "You aren't ugly!" "Lying is a sin!"
"We brought her back in one piece." Pete chuckled and opened his arms for a hug, which I gladly accepted. "Do you feel better?" "Much. I'm still sorta tired, but I'll be fine." I noticed a kid who had a backstage, eye me from across the room. "Ty, this is Josh's little brother, Ajax." I held out my hand for a hand shake. "I prefer AJ." "Nice to meet you AJ. I'm Ty." "Right back at ya." He smiled shyly at me, and his bright blue eyes lit up. "How old are you?" "15 almost 16. You?" "I turn 15 next month." Pete looked like this was news to him. "You forgot your own daughters birthday?" He scratched his neck. "U-Uh no." I rolled my eyes and punched his shoulder. "It's April 22nd." Brendon had his giggles stiffled with his hand. "Sorry kiddo." I shrugged and turned back to AJ. "Are you going to be on tour with us?" He nodded and turned to look at Josh. "Is it okay if I stay here with Ty while you perform? I've seen you perform billions of times." Josh laughed and gave the okay. "Twenty One Pilots you're on in 5." Josh and Tyler ran out of the room, followed by the rest of the boys. "So Ty, tell me about yourself."
"Well I was adopted by Pete around 6 to 8 months ago." He looked surprised. "My mother gave me up. Pete is my real father and he only found out about me being in an orphanage a couple of months ago." "Wow." I shrugged. "Anything else?" I laughed. "I live with the band, they occasionally leave. I like reading, writing, drawing and watching TV. I have been diagnosed with depression, insomnia, waking nightmares, and anxiety. My full name is Tyler Elizabeth-Denisse Wentz. I have two half siblings. My best friends are All Time Low and will die if I don't have coffee." "Josh is my guardian after my parents kicked me out for liking the same sex. I have a little sister who's name is Eli. My full name is Ajax Gabriel Dun. I play bass and piano. I have a boyfriend of 2 years named Max. I love reading and singing and I hate violence." I smiled at the new information. "I hope it's okay that I told you I'm gay." I nodded. "I'm pan." His face resembled one of relief. I knew how he felt, telling someone and having them accept you is the best and worst feeling. Best because it's a weight off your shoulders, worst because of the anxiety.
