One Little Shape Shifter

Chapter 3

I remember about my animal friends on the train. I need to message my animal friends. I go to the little bathroom in the train and turn into a wizard so I can see them through a crystal ball. "It looks like they've all cuddled up in the big tree I sit behind when I play my flute." I whisper. Then I send them a message. When I send it it makes a zapping noise. When I come out people are staring at me even though I turned into a human. All of them have phones. I tell myself. Then I come up with a good lie. "That was my phone sorry everyone." Then everyone just starts doing random stuff like waiting, texting, playing games, and stuff like that. I walk back to where my Mom is sitting. Then I see a person looking at me then flicking their head back in their seat. He looks back at me. It's Chester again. What is he doing here? I ask myself. Then I silently say the words: why are you here? Then he reads my lips as I say that. He waves his hand forward which means: come here. "Mom I'll be back I'm just going to get... Uh..." I hesitate. "Get lunch anyways it's already 12 o'clock." "Ok honey." Said Mom. Then I walked up to him and he said, "we need to talk somewhere private." "Let's go to the dinning cart I'm hungry and I bet its empty." And it is. We get some sandwiches and pick a table. "So what was it you were going to tell me Chester?" I ask. "Well...umm..... before I tell you, do you promise you won't tell anyone?" He says being really serious. "I promise I won't tell anyone." I say. "Ok don't try to hunt me down or anything it's just......... I'm a shape shifter." He said quickly and moving back so he wouldn't get hurt. "Don't worry I won't hurt you because I'm one too. So don't be afraid, I'm with you."

"Is your Mom one?"

"Yep. How about yours?"

"Umm Chloe I don't have a Mom, she died."

"Oh...umm ya sorry for bringing that up."

"It's ok."

Then my Mom comes in the dinning cart. "Oh hello Chester."

"Hello Ms.Revere."

"Mom I need to tell you something." I say getting up from my seat. "What is it honey?" she said. "Chester is one of us." I say slowly because a human walked in. "Oh would you like to come with us all together on the journey to go to the school?"

"Yes please! Thank you!"

I hug him because I know somehow he will be apart of our family, I just know. We go back to our seat inviting Chester to our seat so he doesn't have to sit alone. He brings his backpack over with all the bread and fish and clothes he has. I know why he came over to my animal corner now he fishes and grows crops and he doesn't hunt. He must be friends with some of my animal friends. "Do you have a pet yet?" I ask Chester curiously. "Nope. Do you?"

"Nope. We'll buy one when we get to the school."

"Ok"

I look out the window and just ahed I can see a school and the train starts to slow down. This is the school next thing is the portal. I tell myself. The train stops and right before I get off the train I look at the clock it says its 4 o'clock. I turn around and get three meals for dinner for us and then get off the bus. I see Chester waiting for me and my Mom at a little shed that's empty. "Want to sleep here and go in the portal tomorrow?" Chester asks. "Sure." I say. And it really doesn't look too bad. We all turn into chipmunks and sleep on our bags. But I can't sleep so I wake Chester up. I want to see that portal. I go out side and look at it. It's a blueish purplish swirly thing I can't wait to see what's inside. "I can't wait Chester." I say "I can't wait."
