Chapter 14

Dani's P.O.V

I woke up when Santana launched herself off the bed. "What the hell?" I said, sitting up quickly.I saw her hair fly around the corner, and heard her run into the bathroom. I got up and ran to the bathroom, I saw her leaned over the toilet. I ran to her and grabbed her hair, pulling it back, as she threw up in the toilet. I rubbed her back soothingly. When she was finished, i helped her up. "Too much alcohol" she complained, "I did tell you" I teased, she smiled a little but groaned, holding her head. I scooped her up, bridal style and placed her back in bed, kissing her forehead. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a paracetamol and some water, before jogging to the room. "Here San" I said, giving her the water and tablet. She gladly took it and lay back down, falling asleep almost instantly. I giggled and went to the lounge to watch some TV.

I was finishing my TV show when my phone rang. I picked it up. 

"Hello?" I said, "Hello, is that Dani?" a voice said, I recognize it. "Yes, who is this?", "Its Cammie" she said, "Oh my god, Cammie! Is it really you?" I asked, tearing up. "I've missed you so much Dan" she said, "Me too! Where have you been? Cam, you just left! Your parents were so worried, I was worried" I said, sadly, to my best friend, who I haven't seen in 2 years. She left Texas a while back before I moved to New York, nobody heard from her since. "Dan, I have to tell you something. To tell you what happened" She said, seriously. "Okay" I said, "But you have to know, I regretted leaving you so much Dan, you was in a bad place, I should have never have left, but I had to get away" She said, "Why Cam?" I said, my eyes tearing up. "Do you remember that guy, the one who was an idiot and moved to Australia?" she asked, "Who? James?" I asked, "Yeah" she said, "What about him?" I asked, "Dani, I have a son" she said. My heart skipped a beat, "You what?" I said, "I have a son, his name is Ryan. He's 1" she said, "Really?" I asked, "Yeah" she breathed, "Dan, he's gorgeous, you have to meet him" She said, "I cant Cam, I'm in...", "New York, I know" she interrupted me. "How?" I said, "Jordan said" she said, "Oh" i said, quietly. "But I am too" she said, happily. "CAM! Why didn't you say! I have to see you! And meet this baby boy!" I squealed, "Id love to Dani! Anytime!" she said, "How about later today? At the new restaurant, near the spotlight diner, do you know where that is?" I asked, "yeah, I'll be there at 4" she said, "See you then" I said, "Love you Dani, I have missed you" she said, "I love you too" I said, smiling. I placed the phone down on the table and sighed, I heard footsteps behind me. "Who was that?" San said, groggily, "Nobody babe, you look like a zombie" I said, chuckling, she laughed and sat next to me on the sofa. "I love you" I said, "and I do you" she said, I smiled and we watched TV.

I looked at the clock. 3:29pm. I hurried and got changed, grabbed my keys and phone and ran to the door. San was sleeping again, so I decided to leave a note:

Hey babe,

I’m going out, I’ll be back soon. Don’t worry.

Sleep well, angel. I love you very much.

Dani xox

I smiled and kissed the page, leaving it on the table, before walking out of the door.

I hopped off the bus and walked across the road to the small restaurant. I looked in the window and saw her, my best friend. Sat with her back to me. I smiled and pushed the door open. She spun around and looked at me, she had the most beautiful baby boy I had ever seen in her arms. I smiled at her, she quickly placed him in his pushchair and stood up, hugging me tightly. "Dani" she said, she pulled back with tears in her eyes. I smiled at her and kissed her cheek, "I've missed you" I said, before sitting down. Ryan turned his head towards me and looked confused. "Ry, this is Dani. Can you say that, Dani?" Cam asked her son, "Da-mi" he said, drawing out the 'a', in the cutest baby voice i've ever heard. I giggled, he looked at me and smiled, "Da-mi" he said again, "Cam. He's gorgeous" I said, quietly. She nodded, and picked him up, bringing him around to me. i held my hands our to him and he immediately reached out for me. "Woah, Dani. He sure likes you, he wont go to anyone!" Cammie exclaimed, i laughed as the little boy pinched my nose. "You are so adorable, Ryan!" I said, he giggled and looked me in the eyes. His eyes are green, just like Cammie's. "Da-mi" he whispered, staring at my face, "That's me, i'm Dani, and you're Ryan" I said, quietly, "Ry" he said, "Yeah, you're Ryan" I said, he giggled, collapsing into my arms and hugging me. I looked over at Cammie, she was tearing up. "What?" I asked, "I've just-I've never seen him this happy!" she said, I smiled, and looked at the little boy in my arms. "Cam, he's special" I said, she nodded, "I know". 

I stayed with Cam for another two hours and Ryan fell asleep on my knee. At about 6ish, i decided i'd better get home. San would worry. "I'll see you soon?" I asked Cam, she nodded, "This little guy loves you, of course!" she said, happily. I smiled and hugged her goodbye. I arrived at home and walked in the door. "San?" I asked, she was sat at the bar in the kitchen. "San, are you-" I started, "Where have you been?" she said bluntly. "Out! i left you a note!" I said, shocked at her bluntness. "Out, where?" she asked, slowly. "Out Santana! Why does it matter where?" I said, annoyed. "Who was you with, Dani" she said, louder. "What is wrong with you! Seriously Santana! What's going on?!" I exclaimed. "Dani.. who was you with?" she asked, she was shouting now. "I was out Santana.. why does it matter. God" I said, stroppily. "DAMMIT DANI, WHO THE HELL WAS YOU WITH?!" she screamed, I flinched. I backed against the wall, suddenly scared. "Stop, Santana". "WHO THE HELL DANI, ITS NOT A HARD QUESTION. JUST FUCKING TELL ME, GOD" she screamed, I felt a tear slide down my cheeks, "Please, Santana. Stop" I begged, "DÍGAME. ¡No es una pregunta difícil! Sólo tienes que responder, ¡maldita sea!" She shouted, I was crying. "San, stop, please. Your scaring me. Listen, I was with an old friend, okay? God Santana, what the hell? Do you not trust me or something. IM YOUR GIRLFRIEND FOR GODS SAKE." I shouted. I ran into my room and grabbed a bag, I started shovelling things into it. I'm going, I cant be here a minute longer. I picked up my phone, I rung Cammie. "Cam, can I come stay with you? I cant be here any longer" I begged, sobbing, she agreed and told me to come right now. I shoved my phone and charger into my bag and headed for the door. Santana heard me come out. "Dani, I'm sorry, please don't go" she begged, "Santana, do you really expect me to stay after that huh?" I said, she looked down. "I'm so sorry" she said, I stomped to the door and threw it open, "I love you!" she shouted as I walked away from the apartment. Away from her.
