It hurt.
I felt so bad just chasing her away like this.
Just why, why the fuck am I making the worst, life-threatening sacrifices just for this one girl?
That's cause you like her.
Shut the fuck up, inner voice.
Just then, the door burst open and Seolhyun ran in, her mascara all damp and wet, lines of black streaming down her face. I almost got the shock of my life.
"sOONYOUNGGGG. Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere?" Seolhyun cried as she glanced at every inch of me, but still making sure to maintain a safe distance from me.
My father came in next.
Stuck up as usual. I thought, as he briskly walked over with his head high.
"Let's talk about the wedding now, then." He announces, pulling out the same file and flipping it to the same page.
You have got to be fVCKING kidding me.
"Father, no. Not now, can't you see that I'm hospitalized?" I pointed out, face-palming myself.
Why is the old man so desperate? Why can't he get married instead actually? I mean, the benefits are still the same.
Father glanced at me with a straight face, and glanced back at Seolhyun.
He sighed. "Fine then, let's wait till you're out of the hospital ."
I sighed a little in relief as I watched Seolhyun and my father walk out of the ward.

"Wonwoo, do you know where my telescope is? I wanna observe the stars later on." I called out from upstairs.
"Which one?" Wonwoo called back.
"The one with a super thin frame."
"How should I know where you keep your things, little sis?" Wonwoo replied, and I rolled my eyes.
Kneeling over my drawer, I rummaged through my belongings. There were plenty of my old photographs and my unworn clothes in there, and I pulled my hand out immediately when I felt something prick my finger.
That's weird...
I dug through my belongings once more and I slowly made a hole amongst my things, and I pulled out something long. It was a long keychain. No, a necklace. It was necklace.
I don't remember owning such a thing.
I observed and inspected the necklace as if it was something that I'd never seen before.
"Y... and S?" I mumbled at the tiny words that were engraved on the small heart chain that hung from the necklace.
I could tell that there were a few more letters on it, but they were faded and I couldn't really tell what they were.
I burst out of my room and hurried to Wonwoo, who was seated on the sofa, watching television and munching on hamburger flavored crisps.
"Wonwoo."
"What now?" He asked, annoyed.
"What's this? Did mum perhaps, give this to me?" I asked, with a hint of hope in my tone.
Wonwoo stared at me as if I was crazy. "Give what? This?"
I nodded. "Yeah... Before she and dad...you know."
Wonwoo shook his head and shrugged. "Never seen that before. And mum and dad passed away in a car accident when you were 13, and I don't think she gave you anything that looked like that. It's pretty though, you should wear it."
"Oh, okay..." I removed the latch and swung it around my neck. A cold chill ran down my spine as I felt the cold metal heart freeze my chest.

As I glanced down at my arm as the male nurse, a short guy with dark hair with light streaks of brown in it, did another round of medical check up for me.
"Lee...Jihoon? That's your name?" I began, looking up at the short nurse.
The nurse glanced up and nodded, his hair bobbing up and down. Aw, he's adorable.
"Are you in high school?" I asked. I mean, it obviously wasn't an offensive question, because he does look like he would be a high school student.
"I'm 22." The nurse said curtly, raising an eyebrow.
Oh.
Oops.
Just then, the door burst open and in came a frantic Seungcheol, who was wearing a white shirt with a denim jacket.
"cOUSIIIIIIIIIN!!!" Seungcheol wailed as he pounced on me.
"Dude are you drunk?" I asked, rubbing my abdomen.
"How could you fvcking do this to me???? On my birthday???? Why the hell didn't you take your damn pills?" Seungcheol wailed as he started stomping his foot on the floor.
I raised an eyebrow. "Your birthday? It's today? Already?"
"Seungcheol?" The nurse turned his head and glanced at my cousin.
"Jihoon?" I watched as my cousin started smiling flowers on his face as he pounced on the small nurse and began jump hugging him.
"CHOI SEUNGCHEOL!!!" The nurse yelped in excitement.
"LEE JIHOON!!!"
For what seemed like forever, I was still on the hospital bed, with a needle not even stuck halfway or properly through my skin, watching my cousin and the nutcase nurse bounce around the room.
"IT'S BEEN FOREVER, MY FRIEND!" Jihoon exclaimed.
"YEAH SINCE THAT TIME YOU ALMOST TRIED TO KILL JOSHUA AND I WITH A DAMN GUITAR!" Seungcheol continued.
A what?
"Hello, I'm still here." I raised my voice monotonously as the two of them slowly turned their head to me.
"Jihoon, meet my younger cousin Soonyoung. He's a brat." Seungcheol smiled and ruffled my hair.
"Yeah I can tell, he kept moving around during his medical checkup just now." Jihoon said.
"I did not!" I protested.
"But you're a nurse now?!?!? After you tried to kill Shua and I??? dAYUMMMMMMM!!!" Seungcheol high-fived the small midget.
God, save me.
