Background: His mother died after giving birth to Taejung and his father passed away before he was even born so his uncle Jinyoung took him into custody. He almost treated JYP Entertainment as his home because his uncle always brought him to work since there was no one else to look after him. Due to being JYP's nephew, he got free training and was forced to become an idol even though he wanted to be a news anchor. After a few years, he gave up his dream of being in the mass-comm industry and learned to love performing.
