With difficulty, I put on a blue short-sleeve shirt, a black hoodie over it, blue jeans, and black sneakers. I didn't have to get a shower, thankfully. There were showers at the hospital and the nurses helped me take one. I wanted Mom to help me instead but they wouldn't let her. Anyway, I walked into the bathroom to brush and straighten my hair. It hadn't been brushed since Wednesday.
Soon it's almost 10. I tell Mom bye and leave. Luckily Henry's house is only a few blocks away so I don't have to walk that far.
When I get to Henry's house I ring the doorbell. Henry's mom, Bethany, answered the door.
"Hello!" she says in a very cheery voice. "You must be Julia."
She tells me Henry is working on something in the backyard. I wanted to go back there but Bethany told me it was a surprise for me. I had to sit there awkwardly with her as I waited for Henry to finish the surprise.
The moment I had been waiting for finally came. Henry finally finished the surprise. He apologized for taking so long. I told him and was fine and we started heading for the back door. He covered my eyes with his hands as we got closer to the door. He opened the door and helped me down the steps off the porch.
"Oh. My. God." I said as Henry uncovered my eyes. "It's amazing!"
