Chapter 10: Sibling War

Haley's POV:

I have the greatest brother, "Haley, you and Chloe wanna stay and watch a Disney movie with us?"  Before I could speak Chloe blurted out Toy Story.

"Nope, Big Hero 6. Rachel hasn't seen it, Hale, I know you haven't seen it yet either."  He's got a point.

"No no no, toy Story is classic dude.  Nothing beats that." Chloe says as she sits back on his couch. 

"Big. Hero. 6." Jimmy leans right into Chloes face as he tries keeping a straight face. 

"Toy. Fucking. Story" chloe says pressing her forhead on his about to crack up.

"Cars!"  I say for no reason. 

"Haley, what is wrong with you? God no."  Jimmy says as he and Chloe are both laughing.  They better not be laughing at me, so help me god. I have no remorse beating my brother but, I can't hurt my girlfriend. "Are you two laughing at me?"  Chloe immediately stops and Jimmy keeps laughing.

"Sis, if we were laughing at you, you would know it." I glare at him and grab his arm as Rachel puts in Big Hero 6.  "Come in Hale, sit down and watch the movie."  Chloe pulls me on her lap and I am left with no choice but to sit there, Rachel sits next to Jimmy on the other couch and puts her feet in his lap as the movie starts. 

After the movie I am in tears, it was so sad but awesome,  Chloe is bawling too, same with Rachel.  Jimmy on the other hand is emotionless, I guess he's seen it one too many times.  "Jimmy, that movie was good."  Chloe says wiping her eyes, I haven't cried like that in forever.  "Yeah bubby, it was good." 

"Haley, are those.  Are those tears in your eyes? You have a heart?" Jimmy says as I give him my ultimate death glare. 

That's it, he's done for.

"Haley, calm down, don't kill your brother-" Jimmy dashes around the couch as I try grabbing him.  I hop over it chasing him to his bathroom as he locks the door.  "JAMES CRAIG CARSWELL, OPEN THIS DOOR OR ELSE."  I can hear Rachel and Chloe laughing.

"Haley, calm down and I'll open the door. I won't do it unless you do."  He says behind the door.

"If you open the door I'll make your beating painless...ish."

"Nah, I'm good sis."  Jimmy says in a mock tone just digging the hole he's already in deeper.

"Haley, your phone is going off. It says your mom is calling."  Jimmy unlocks the door and comes out.  "Hale! It's mom, go get it!!" I'm too stunned to move, "come. On. Hale. Damn you are heavy to push." 

"I'm only 120 pounds, you ass."  I punch his arm as I grab my phone. 

H: Hello?  Oh hi mom! 
M: Hi baby girl, how are you?  Jimmy said he was gonna come visit you soon, has he been by yet? 
H: I'm actually standing in his living room.  Him and dad sort of-
M: Your piece of shit father can go rot in hell.  Let me talk to him for a minute.
H: okay here he is.

I hand Jimmy the phone as he walks into the other room. 

"Hale, your mom sounded mad." Chloe grabs my hand and holds it.
"She hates our dad as much as Jimmy does." 
"He was an asshole to Jimmy though, he isn't too nice."  Rachel says, she's not wrong.  But she's so naive about it.  She doesn't understand the torture he went through with our dad.

"Yeah, mom, understood, we will be there.  Promise.  Yes we will behave.  Hold on," he puts the phone on mute.  "Mom wants us to meet her for dinner tonight, Chloe, Rachel you two are coming too.  No ifs ands or buts," he unmutes the phone, "Yeah mom we will be there, Rachel and Chloe are dying to meet you. Okay, Hale say bye to mom."  I lean over and we say bye together,  and he hangs it up. 

"Mom's gonna flip shit about your snake bites, she hates piercings she almost had a coronary when I dyed my hair in middle school, remember?" I say laughing, he joins in and brings up something else.

"Hale, I want you to help.me dye my hair tonight, Rachel helped me pick it out, purple."  He says smiling. 

"Hmm purple huh? Let's do it." We go into his bathroom as he grabs me one of his old t-shirts to put on and we start dyeing his hair.  In the end, it turned out great, all he needs is a couple tattoos and he'll look like a total badass.

I wouldn't know what to do without Jimmy, he's two years younger than me but I feel so much safer around him.  And seeing him happy with Rachel makes my heart smile.  I wish days like these could last forever.
