MC:SM- Same Love

NOTES: My friend best friend and I created this in a roleplay we did together. She encouraged me to rewrite it as a short story.

Also, LGBT rights for the win ^^

It had been about two months since Petra left on her adventure. Jesse stayed behind in Beacontown with the others, but before Petra left, she promised that she'd return to her friends, for after the adventure regarding the Admin, she understood how important their friendship was.

And she was back now. Petra wanted to make a specific stop before going to the temple to see Jesse, Radar, and Lukas. She headed to Badluck Ally to go to Jack and Nurm's emporium. She heard that the duo finally got their shop fixed up and were back in business.

When Petra arrived, she was surprised to see that the emporium was closed. Then she remembered that it was a weekend, which meant the store was closed today. But she still knocked on the door, and when she heard the sound of footsteps coming to the door, she smiled.

The door opened, and Nurm was there. He enthusiastically spoke in his language and gave Petra a smile.

"Hi Nurm. It's good to be back," she said.

Nurm pulled Petra into a hug. The adventurer returned it, and after they let go, Nurm walked her into the emporium.

"Is Jack around here? I'd like to say hi to him to," said Petra.

Nurm nodded his head and spoke again. He headed upstairs, so Petra figured he was going to get Jack so that he could say hi to her.

Petra smiled as she saw the villager rush upstairs. If Nurm was this excited to see her, then she knew that Jack would be happy to see her to. She missed them both and had come close to them as friends during their adventure. She was especially close to Jack now, for she saw him as a father-figure.

Though Petra hadn't told Jack this yet, so she hoped she could drop the subject today since she was back from her adventure.

As she waited for Nurm and Jack to come downstairs, Petra noticed that there was a table with a couple framed photos. Curious, she walked over. She formed a sad look on her face when she saw that it was photos of Jack with his friends. Not just Nurm, but also Vos (who she remembered what he looked like when Romeo was disguised as Vos) and a girl. The girl had blond hair and wore a dark grey shirt, brown pants, and dark brown shoes.

Petra noticed that there were quite a few photos of Jack and Nurm with their friends, but then she spotted one of Jack with the girl, holding hands.

"Hmm..." she said.

"Petra!" said a voice.

Petra turned around. She was spooked, but it was only Jack. He smiled at her.

"You're back!" he said.

Petra smiled and ran over to him. She gave him a hug, which he almost immediately returned.

"We missed you. Hope your adventure was great," said Jack.

"It was, but... I wished I could've had company. I realized how much my friends mean to me, so I'm back," she said.

The two let go of their hug, smiling at each other. Nurm approached them and smiled to.

"I know that for sure, it's fun to adventure with friends. Nurm and I adventured a lot with Vos and Sammy, as you saw in those photos you were looking at," said Jack.

"Sorry about that. I shouldn't have been nosy," said Petra.

Jack smiled sadly at her. He gently grabbed Petra's hand and walked her over to the table with the photos. He picked one up of him, Vos, Nurm, and the girl.
