NOTE: This is based on the season 2 ending where Jesse chooses to stay in Beacontown

Jesse sighed as she sat down at the table. After deciding to stay in Beacontown and let Petra journey on her own, she had to get started right away on some important stuff. Even with Radar's help, it was a lot to catch up on since the Admin mess made her fall behind on some stuff.

It was the end of the day now. Radar went to bed, while Lukas, Jack, and Nurm all headed back to their homes for the night. Jesse sat at the dining room table by herself. She had a cup of coffee with her to keep her awake. Just a little bit more work, and after reaching a good stopping point, she'll call it a day.

After sorting out some papers, she spotted an opened envelope, with the letter inside it still.

"That's right, Radar said that there was some mail..." she whispered.

She grabbed the envelope and looked at the sender's address.

"Wow... Radar was right. This is from Aiden," said Jesse.

She remembered that Radar said that the letter was about something with Aiden wanting to redeem herself. It hadn't crossed her mind that Aiden would want redemption. But Jesse remembered that day. The day they all made it to Sky City, and after a battle, Aiden surrendered. Jesse was given the choice to throw him off of Sky City, leave him behind with the monsters, or take Aiden with her.

Jesse took Aiden with her. Even if what he did was bad, she couldn't leave him behind, and she most certainly wouldn't throw him off the city. Those other options sounded immoral to her, and she knew that bringing Aiden was the right choice.

Jesse let out a sigh, closing her eyes as she remembered the last time she and Aiden interacted:

"I hope you learned a lesson Aiden. This could've been avoided," she said.

"Yeah... I know... I'm sorry for what I've done..." said Aiden.

There was a short pause, as Jesse tried to find the right words. She wanted to badly tell him that she wasn't happy with how he let jealousy corrupt his mind, but as she looked at him, she saw Aiden look down. He did look regretful.

So she came up with something nicer to say.

"Try to have a fresh start Aiden," she said.

"Yeah... That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I can build myself a nice house somewhere, and become a writer," said Aiden.

Jesse opened her eyes as the memory finished projecting in her head. She still remembered those words, even if it had been years since she last saw Aiden.

Curious now, she opened up the letter and read what it said.

Dear Jesse,

Wow... it's uh... it's been a while... hasn't it?

I know it's been years, but again, I'm sorry for the mess I caused with Sky City. I should've never let jealousy corrupt my mind. I never meant to be a jerk before you saved the world from the Witherstorm. Heck, when Lukas told us that you needed help, the Ocelots and I knew that we had to help you guys. But I let jealousy corrupt my mind, and I don't know what got to me.

I was a major jerk, and I'm sorry.

It's been a while since we last saw each other, and Maya, Gill and I have paid for our time in prison. Isa and Milo have allowed us to live in Ground City, their new town. But not a day goes by where I still remember what I did wrong, and the guilt is in me. It's a part of me.
