NOTE: This is a short story tied to my crossover story "Dreams and Spinjitzu" (which can be found here on my Wattpad). It takes place in between chapters 3 and 5, when there is a time skip in between those points of the story.

If you haven't read the story yet, I recommend you get an idea on what happens in it before you read this short story since it ties to it.

The sound of birds chirping outside woke him up. As he opened up his eyes, Morro perceived everything to be bright and blurry for just a few seconds. Once everything was clearer, he found himself back in in the strange place he ended up.

The master of wind sat up. He let out a yawn, stretching his arms a bit. Now wide awake, he glanced at his surroundings. By now, he knew for sure that he couldn't be dreaming.

He was in another universe.

No. Not one of the sixteen realms, for the beings of this world are nothing like him or any other in the realms. The humans here are different and look different, and there are other creatures.

A place called the Dream Universe.

And the master of wind had been invited to stay with one of the heroes of this world. The Dreamer of Peace, but she told him to simply call her by her nickname, "Kate". She said it was what all her friends called her.

It meant that she wanted to be his friend.

Morro stood up. He got dressed in the clean clothes that Kate and her husband, Knuckles the Echidna, gave him. Once he was properly dressed, he headed downstairs, and as he walked down the stairs, he could hear some commotion. There were unfamiliar voices talking.

When he reached the downstairs, he was confused to why there wasn't anyone around. But after he walked to the living room, he could see that the device called the TV was on, for it was playing some sort of show. It interested him, for it looked like it was animated, and the animal characters on the screen didn't look like the creatures called Mobians here in the Dream Universe.

Morro noticed that someone was sitting on the couch, and after approaching them, he saw that it was Kate herself. She heard Morro approaching, so she turned around and smiled at him.

"Hey Morro. Had a good night's rest?" she asked him.

"Yeah, I guess. You doing alright yourself," said Morro.

"Yeah. I've been up for a couple hours, so I thought I'd watch some cartoons a little bit before heading out," said Kate.

"Cartoons?" asked Morro. He looked up at the TV, watching a character, a black cat in a red cape, start attacking a giant, dragon-like monster, with a gold katana on the screen.

"Yep. They actually decided to air something good and worthy of airing for a change. But it's almost over, and besides, we can't keep them waiting," said Kate.

"'We'? 'Them'?" asked Morro, forming a confused look.

"Oh. That's right. I planned something today. Kinda last minute, but I think it'll be great, especially since it'll get you out of the house," said Kate.

Morro didn't respond. He was going to be leaving the treehouse? Just a couple days ago, he got off on the wrong foot with the people of this world, because he tried to steal a gem of power. A Chaos Emerald, and Kate and her friends were trying to fight him to make sure he didn't use it for bad intentions.

But while Kate and her friends got things cleared up, and even forgave him, Morro knew that the rest of this world wouldn't easily forgive. And if anything, while he accepted his mistakes, he couldn't find himself to forgive himself. He felt like he knew he didn't deserve forgiveness, for his mistakes were horrible.
