NOTE: This takes place after "Above and Beyond", and is based on the ending where Romeo survives.

Also, this is NOT a ship story between Romeo and Xara.

As he sat down, Romeo stayed quiet. He knew that it was possibly pointless to say, but he had to try. He had to at least try to make things right. After everything he did, hurting all the people he hurt, he wanted to make things right now. Especially with one person in particular.

Xara.

He took Jesse's warning that Xara would try to kill him. And good thing she warned him. Because after reaching the Underneath, the second she saw him, Xara came charging at him with an axe in her hand. Romeo was able to defend himself, for before he left, Jesse gave him a shield. He was able to protect himself when Xara came at him, and thank goodness Val and Soup were there to. They were able to pull Xara off of him.

After Xara managed to calm down, Rome was ready to talk to her. And the conversation went as he expected it:

"Xara... I just want to talk," he said.

"Pfft! Yeah right! You killed Fred, you enclosed our world with bedrock, you locked me in the Sunshine Institute, and you pulled that Jesse girl into a whole new mess you created! And now you want to talk?! Is this because you lost your powers? Now that you're mortal. Now you want to talk? Yeah right!" Xara snapped at him

"N-no! R-really. I just want to talk to you, Xara. I really just want to talk," said Romeo, stuttering a bit.

"I don't want to hear anything you have to say! Whether it's excuses or lies, I'm not listening to anything you tell me!" said Xara.

"Can you two argue about it later!? If you want to get out of this hell, then maybe you should go through the portal like everyone else has!" Val called out to them.

She and Soup hadn't left yet, for they didn't want to leave Xara or Romeo behind. Xara frowned and stormed over to the portal. She walked past Soup and Val, without saying anything, and entered the portal.

Romeo sighed sadly and slowly walked over to the portal.

"Ladies first..." he said quietly to Soup and Val.

Soup jumped in ahead before Val could protest. Val sighed and jumped in after her friend. Romeo turned around, taking one last look at the Oasis before heading into the portal.

"I did this... I did this to Xara... I don't expect her to accept my apology, but I have to try. I know Fred would want it. For both of us, especially her... she meant a lot to him..." he whispered.

He faced the portal again and jumped into the portal. After so much distortion, Romeo found himself back on the surface. They were outside an abandoned temple of some sort. And just in the distance was Beacontown.

Xara, Soup, and Val were waiting for him.

"So, where is this town that you said we are going to?" asked Val.

"It's just straight ahead. But we need to hurry. When the sun goes down, that's when the monsters come out..." said Romeo.

"The sun... it's so bright! I like it!" said Soup excitedly.

"I gotta admit, but it is lovely up here... I never thought I'd get to see it..." said Val, as she looked around.

Romeo nervously looked at Xara, hoping she'd say something about seeing the surface again, but Xara didn't say anything. She kept the angry look on her face.
