Chapter 3

~Author's POV~

Red entered the black van parked by the school gates, greeted by familiar faces. "Hey bro, what took you so long?" a blonde guy, presumably Williams, questioned. "I took care of some business," Jared replied. "Business, eh? I don't believe you," remarked the brown-haired one. "I don't have to tell you everything, River," Red retorted. "So it isn't business, then? I knew it," said the black-haired guy. "What's with this interrogation, anyway? We're gonna be late, dude. So you better stop that and let's go, Zed," Red responded, annoyed. "Woah, chill, bro. We're just messing around," River assured him. "I know. So let's go," Jared said coldly.

They arrived at a concert hall because, surprise, surprise, they were actually a rock band named "Paranoia." Red was the vocalist, River played the guitars, Zed was the bassist, and Lucky Williams rocked the drums. Despite the eerie name, they weren't into growling, scary makeup, or craziness. They wrote their own songs and were gaining fame everywhere.

Their manager greeted them, urging them to rehearse for the upcoming concert. Red and his bandmates hit the stage and started practicing.

After the concert, Paranoia returned to their dorms. Living together was convenient for gigs, especially since they were all still in senior high school. Fortunately, their dorm was near the school.

"So, Red, mind telling us who this so-called 'business' is?" River teased. "Why can't I keep a secret from all of you?" Jared sighed. "Well, we know you, so spill it," Lucky urged. "Okay, so I met this girl," Jared began. "What?! How does she look? Is she pretty? Smart? Do you like her?" Zedrick bombarded him with questions. "Hold on, I'm not finished yet," Red glared at the youngest.

*Yes, Zed is the youngest, y'all.*

"I met this girl. She's different, doesn't treat me like others do. She's interesting, pretty, but her beauty is hidden behind thick glasses. I saved her from bullies twice, and that's it. I'm not telling you all the details," Jared smirked, then dashed to his room. "This boy... well, good luck with that, Red," River said once Jared was out of sight.

Meanwhile, in Mina's room, she pondered the day's events. "What in the world just happened?" The image of Red's face close to hers flashed in her mind. "Aaaaaaahhhhh!" she screamed, startling her sister who barged into the room. "Mina, what happened? Did a pervert enter your room? Where is he? I'm going to kill—wait, what?" It was Ginny, Mina's older sister. "Nothing," Mina muttered. "You screamed that loud for nothing? Spill the beans, honey," Ginny demanded. "Well, I almost lost my first kiss," Mina said, fidgeting.

*My innocent potato 😂.*

"What? How?" Ginny asked. "Well, he almost, you know," Mina said, lowering her head. "He saved me from my bullies. I think he didn't mean it. He just wanted to save me," Mina continued. "By almost kissing you? How come—tell me what really happened?" Ginny demanded.

Mina spilled all the details to her older sister. "So, how does he look like?" Ginny asked with a teasing tone. "What? You didn't even ask if I'm okay or if I'm hurt or something. You are more interested in his appearance. What kind of sister are you?" Mina said dramatically. "I know you're not hurt. He protected you, that's what you said. So, answer my question," Ginny fired back. "Alright... He's handsome," Mina blushed while saying that. "I knew it. You like him," the older one teased, making the younger blush even more. "What? No, I don't. Ginny, stop teasing. Not funny," Mina demanded. But Ginny didn't stop and eventually made Mina push her out of the room. She closed the door with a broken doorknob, courtesy of Ginny.
