Chapter 14

~Mina's POV

"Now tell me, what is it Gianne?" his words echoed. I wished it was as easy for me as it seemed for him. "I... I... It's so hard, Red. It's embarrassing." I covered my face with my hands. "Okay then." He stood up from his seat again. "Okay, okay! I'll tell it now!" I said as I grabbed his hand. He sat down, and we intertwined our fingers. "Okay, I'm listening," he said, looking straight into my eyes.

"I... Li-like you too." I blushed and looked down, wishing the ground would swallow me. "You like me too? Then why? Why did you run away from me?" he was still confused. "Because I'm scared. I'm scared that you'll only play with my feelings. Or maybe you're only feeling pity or—" he put a finger on my lips. "I like you. From the first day I saw you, I already liked you. And when I saw you smile for the first time, I thought the world stopped its motion. Don't think that I'm joking or playing around. I'm serious, Gianne." He looked at me with loving eyes, removing his finger from my lips.

I could feel that he was indeed serious. But something inside me told me that he was playing. "But what if—" he put his finger against my lips again. "I like you. Can't you see it through me?" I looked into his eyes and saw that he was really sincere.

"Now let me finish what I was saying last time," he said, holding my hands. "Mina Gianne Lim, will you be my girlfriend? For real this time." I was surprised, and my words got caught in my throat. Since I couldn't say it, I nodded. "Really? Yes?" he happily said. I smiled at him and nodded again. He got out of his seat and knelt right beside me. "You won't regret it. I'll be the best boyfriend you'll ever have." He held my hands. "You already are, Red. I can't ask for more," I said while smiling widely at him.

We left the coffee shop hand in hand. I caught a glance of him, and he was smiling creepily. "What's with that smile?" I asked because he was really creepy now. "It's just that I realized that you are mine now." His smile grew wider.

That made me blush. It wasn't necessary. He attacked my heart. This boy, really?

He walked me to my home. I didn't agree at first, but he was too persistent. Eventually, I gave up and let him walk me home. "See you around, babe." Then he suddenly winked. I was left there dumbfounded. Then my sister opened the front door. I was leaning on that door, so, lucky me, I fell down on my butt.

"Ow! What the fudge, Ginny!" I yelled at my sister. She laughed at me like a wicked witch. "I-I'm s-sorry... I didn't know you were there." She said in between her laughs. "So baby sissy, is he the guy who almost kissed you?" Is she a psychic or something? "Wait a minute, you've seen everything?" I stared weirdly at her. "Well, I didn't mean to see your lovey-dovey scene there. I just wanted to open the windows for fresh air, but then I saw you two. Doing the—" I covered her mouth. "Okay, okay." I removed my hand from her mouth. "So is he the guy you cried your eyeballs out over?" It's official, my big sister is a psychic. "Hey, how did you know everything? Huh?" I asked her. "Because I'm your sister." Then she smiled. Then her smile turned into a teasing one.

"Don't smile like that. You're creepy," I told her. "I already know him from the first time you told me about him. I know you, honey." She said while smiling creepily. "Now baby sister, tell me all about it."

We went inside my room. I told her the whole drama. She intently listened to me, focusing on every detail. After that storytime, she suddenly spoke. "Oh~ so he's the guy my friend was blabbering about. That vocalist guy of Paranoia." Then she smiled creepily again. "You got a good fish, honey." She's starting to tease me again.

"Stop teasing, Ginny." But she didn't oblige. "Even if he was already rejected, he continued protecting you. He is like a prince charming or a knight in shining armor." She said while her eyes were sparkling. Hearing that made me red as a tomato. She rolled on the floor while squealing.

"Can you stop that? You're embarrassing to look at," I told her. But she continued squealing like a seal. "This is the last straw. I'm warning you." She teased me again, and that pushed my limit. I tackled her and pushed her out of my room. I could still hear her fading laughter.
