Cyrene Parris
Chris stubbornly spent the night, which made no sense to me since I barely exchanged words with him, after I was done with my paper I purposely went to my bed earlier than the usual. I woke up to his lips pressed against my cheek. "Didn't mean to wake you, but I'm leaving now"
I know Chris knew I was a light sleeper but I didn't have the energy to snap at him. He was all dressed and ready to leave, I looked at the clock and it was 7:00 either way I was suppose to be up. "That's fine, you want breakfast I could fix you something before you go" I offered.
"Does that mean you're done giving me the cold shoulder?"
"No, it just means I'm offering you breakfast" I had no clue why he was taking it deeper than it needs to be.
"I'm not trying to rush the process but for how long are we going to do this? I miss us" He sighed.
"Until I feel like I can trust you again" I responded. I went into the bathroom and got my face and mouth fresh before coming back out. Chris was pacing up and down nervously, almost as if something was killing him.
"Before you make breakfast, I actually came here for a specific reason can we sit? I'm ready to come clean." I just knew my gut feeling was not leading me astray.
"I'm really hungry, I won't fully function or listen until I have something in my stomach so let me just fix something" I said excusing myself, the longer I took to get breakfast ready the more he looked like he was gonna explode, whatever he had to say must've been eating him alive.
I just loved the fact that each dorm had a small kitchenette I don't know how I'd survive being the food addict that I am. When I was through I fixed us both a plate, handing him his along with the coffee he asked for. We sat and ate in silence but as soon as we were through he broke the ice.
"I don't want you throwing these at me" He said taking up my plate, then removed all sharp objects that was near by.
He took a seat on Lena's bed taking a deep breath before he spoke, "This is probably the hardest thing I'm ever going to have to do but just know baby I have real love for you"
"Chris where is this going?" I sighed
"Just listen, please" He started, "I'm really serious about getting you back and in order for us to start over and build a healthy relationship I need to come clean with something since it doesn't make sense if we actually work things out then you find this out and we're back at square one or I lose you forever so I'm going to do what's right"
I'm pretty sure he could hear my heart beating, my anxiety was at its peak because I didn't like where this was going.
"A week or two before you moved here, Daniel and all of us were kickin' it. He was going on and on about how he had met you and how stuck up you were, he described you in the most horrible way. We began making a couple jokes that surrounded you just to lighten the mood" He sighed then covered his face taking a moment.
"Okay So y'all roasted me it's cool" I shrugged.
"I'm not done" He said looking back with the saddest eyes I've ever seen, there goes my anxiety again.
"Then another topic arose they started making jokes saying that I was losing my game with girls. I was acting all tough saying that I still can bag any girl that I want to. So Daniel came up with the dumb idea that— I try and get with you and take your virginity. They all placed a bet that I couldn't but I did. Before you start Cyrene I swear it was the dumbest thing I could ever do. I never thought I'd fall in love with you but I did and I just needed to come clean with you if we were going to start from scratch" He ended.
