"I'll call if anything" I said as I closed the door of his car. I watched as Quincy drove off then I made my way to the front door of my mom's marital home, lately I refused to accept it as my home too I'm really starting to hate this place, nothing ever comes good from it. I took couple breaths before pressing the doorbell. I stood and waited for awhile before mom opened it throwing herself at me.

"It's been so long, I missed you" she said squeezing the life out of me. "You look different, you look so nice, have you gained weight?" she asked as she examined my body.

"I missed you too mom" I wish I could say the same but in the short space of time I hadn't seen her it's like she completely changed too.

She didn't look as well kept as she used to, her nails needed to be done, her hair was caught in a messy ponytail that had little gray hair here and there and not to mention that her eyes carried two Gucci bags beneath them. Mom was extremely the ultimate perfectionist, always calling me out when I looked like crap since she was always up to par. To see her like this completely caught me off guard.

Steve came and greeted me, the house was filled with a lot of faces that were foreign to me, as soon as he introduced them as relatives of his family I didn't feel out of place or lost anymore. I spotted my aunt and grandma, I went over to them and allowed them their ten minutes of questioning and excitement. Unfortunately, dinner wasn't ready as yet and I lost the socializing spirit so I excused myself and went up to my room.

Quincy texted me to see how it was going, the moment I started replying, I heard a knock on my door. I answered letting them know they could come in.

I wish I hadn't since the devil revealed himself striking up all my emotions.

"What" I said dangerously low, I had no idea why he would even dare talk to me after what he was in on.

"Look I know you're mad at me, I'd apologize but I know that probably wouldn't change the fact of what happened" He stated calmly.

"Then why the fuck are you in my room then Daniel" I snarled, I was disgusted just at the sight of him.

"Did Lena delivered the message?" He asked slowly throwing me in a bucket of confusion.

"What message, I never got any message" I stared at him while he released a sigh probably of frustration since I could see it in his face.

"I asked her to tell you something but she said y'all weren't on good terms so she eventually got to tell Quincy and I'm guessing his punk ass didn't tell you." He began pacing up and down in my room and from my past experiences that was never a good thing. I wasn't even home for an hour yet and I was already at the tip of the edge.

He took a deep breath then spoke in the calmest manner. "It's about Chris, he fell off the wagon" my heart suddenly leaped.

"What the hell does that mean?" I know I shouldn't care but I still somehow wanted to know and I had no idea why.

"I know we all made a sick bet and I know you won't believe me but Chris actually loves you, he never thought he would but you really stole his heart and I've never seen him this way before. What happened between y'all took a toll on him, he has been depressed since then to make it worst we were chilling at Joshua when his dumbass showed him some pictures Quincy was posting of you, he looked at all the captions and comments. You know Chris has a short fuse, he got so mad he left right away, later we heard that he was in hospital. He got in a severe accident, he was going way too fast on the slippery road and his brakes failed him, he was in the hospital for a week and some days, he got checked out a couple days ago"
