It turns out that this Matty fellow can actually be a great listener. About three hours of the flight have passed so far, but the time goes by almost unnoticed between my venting and Matty's jokes. But unfortunately, the conversation seemed to be getting deeper.
"If you're not in love, you can't give him the idea that you are. The only thing worse then lying to someone about your feelings is faking them, false hope is a deadly thing, it can destroy a person." Matty said, while gazing at me intensely.
I wasn't quite sure what to do, I knew continuing on would hurt Ross more, but was I really going to throw away four whole years?
Speaking of Ross, since we had reached a safe altitude, he had came and checked up on me every hour. But in the past few, he seemed wary of me. If only love was permanent and not so deceptive. As a Matty continued mumbling about some guy named George, I felt myself slowly drifting off to sleep, where I began dreaming.
"I love you babe." Matty said as his face moved towards me.
"I love you too, Matty."
Just as our lips began touching, I jolted awake.
"So now we're tossing around the L word? I usually wait a bit longer." Matty chuckled.
As if I had been sleep talking, again. I always say the most embarrassing things subconsciously during my sleep.
"I was asleep you douche!" I lightly punched him in the arm through a smile.
"I was asleep you douche!" He mimicked me in a high-pitched squeal which sounded quite hilarious with his heavy accent.
After we stopped laughing, his gaze shifted to beside him. "Looks like we have a visitor."
Little did I know, Ross had been standing there for more than just a few seconds.
