Chapter 53

Maria pov
My leg had healed quick due to some supernatural remedies.

"Come on we've got to get to the Watchtower." Dick said as he dressed Justice in his Robin outfit.

"Well I'm ready so I'm going to dress Jamie," I said as I put my hood up.

"Bruce suggested she wear her Batgirl dress." Dick said.

"I feel that's very appropriate." I said. I went to the nursery and Jamie sat at her doll house playing with her dolls.

"Come on girly, time to get ready for the party." I Said as I got her outfit out.

She came over and I took her shirt off. I helped her take her shoes off and then her skirt. I got her Batgirl outfit on and then helped her with the mask. I got up and got her hairbrush and elastic hair ties that had little bat logos. I took Jamie's hand and we left.

Dick came out of our room with Justice.

"They are too cute." Jason said.

"Uncle Jason," Jamie ran over to him and picked her up.

"Hey Batgirl." She laughed.

"All Justice League members please report to the BatCave. Batman will leave with out you." Alfred said over the intercom.

Damien ran out of his room and jumped over the railing. "Well you only live one." Jason put Jamie down then jumped over the railing.

"I wanna jump." Jamie said.

"No sweet girl, you can't." Dick said.

Tim came out of his room and jumped over the railing. I picked her up and carried her down the stairs. I stood her up on the banister when I was on the last step. She jumped and I put her down on the floor. She ran over to Damien and held his hand. Dick jumped over the banister and I glared at him.

"Justice is fine so stop giving me that look." Dick said. I rolled my eyes.

"You're all bad examples." I said.

"To the BatCave." Jamie exclaimed.

"Please tell me that was caught on the manors security cameras." Tim said.

"It most certainly did." Alfred said over the intercom.

We went to the BatCave and zetaed to the watchtower. The entire league was there. I picked Jamie up out of fear of loosing her. Dick grabbed my free hand and we wove through the crowd.

"Thank you all for coming tonight." Clark said up on stage. Bruce, Dinah, Ollie, Diana, and J'hnn were all up on stage.

"We're here tonight because one of our former members has done what none of us has done. The league took no stand with her first trial. We terminated her league membership." Clark made a speech about the last year and half.

"We'd now like to asks Zodiac to come up here and give a short speech." Clark said. I put Jamie down and went up to the stage. I went up the stairs.

"I wasn't expecting to give a speech tonight. I don't even know what I should say. Um, I just spent the last year and a half surrounded by people who hate all of us in this room. Yet I still found friends among the inmates. We all know once you do your first mission, those team mates are your brothers and sisters. When I was asked by Waller to be apart of her Suicide Squad, I only did it for the reduce sentence. At first I didn't trust a single member of the squad except Katana. So when Harley abandoned the squad with Joker and we found out Waller was only using us to save her ass and in some since it was her fault Enchantress had even escaped. I felt betrayed. So when Harley came back to us after Joker's copter went down. It felt like she was crawling back to us. We went to a bar and we all had a really heartfelt conversation. and In that bar in Midway City the Suicide Squad became a family. As someone who lost their parents at a young age, Friends such as Green Arrow and Black Canary who took me in and made me apart of their family. Nightwing and the Young Justice team also did that same. So it felt natural that the Suicide Squad became my "prison" family if you will. So much that I blame myself for the death of Diablo. I could have saved him. But I was scared I would kill myself if I used a powerful spell." I stopped and gripped my fist.

"Although I haven't changed any of my morals, I would consider Deadshot, Icicle Jr., Riddler and Killer Croc friends of mine. Towards the end of my pregnancy, the guards randomly decided to see what would happen if they threw me into the men's ward. The inmates wanted to hurt me, but Deadshot stood up for me, he was willing to fight everyone in the prison to keep me safe. We sat and chatted. Riddler and Icicle Jr joined us and they where the ones who helped me to the medical ward when Black Paisley picked a fight with me. They fought him for me after I couldn't fight. They loved Justice, they were so excited to hold Justice after he was born. Though you may not agree with me, I've seen the good in them. That's why I believe everyone has some good in them, no one is 100% evil. Thank you." I said.

The laugh clapped. Music started playing and I walked off stage. Dick came up to me.

"You didn't tell me that." He said. I smiled.

"Sorry." I said as I took Justice And kissed his cheek.

M'gann flew over to us. "He's wearing a Robin onesie that's adorable." She said as she took Justice.

"He looks just like you Nightwing." She smiled.

Connor, Kaldur and Artemis came over to us. "He just keeps getting cuter." Artemis said.

"Well he is my son." Dick smirked.

I shook my head. "What am I going to do with you?" I asked.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw Katana.

"Hey," I said as I hugged her.

"How are you?" She asked.

"I'm well, how are you?" I asked.

I felt Jamie tug on my cloak. "Is this your daughter?" Katana asked.

I picked Jamie up. "Yes this is Jamie, and Miss Martian has Justice." I said.

"Who decided to dress them as Batgirl and Robin?" Katana asked.

"It was ours and Batman enforced it." I said.

I stood outside the Hall of Justice. Jamie, Bart and I were joining the league. Well I rejoining the league.

Superman made a speech then we were given our membership cards. It felt so good to be back again.
