Chapter 2: First Day of Love

Leo wakes up with a headache. He looks at his a alarm clock, seeing that he slept through his alarm.

Oh, shit! He thinks, while rushing to get ready.

"Leo, are you almost ready? School starts in less than half an hour!" His mother calls from downstairs.

"I'm coming mom! Hold on a sec!" He yells down the stairs. He throws on what he had laying on the edge of his bed.

Plain blue shirt, blue jeans, leather jacket. What am I missing?... He thinks to himself while looking into the mirror.

Crap! I forgot to comb my hair! He says silently in his head. He grabs his comb from the bathroom and combs his lengthy hair off to the side. After a while of deciding, he throws on a hoodie and beanie and heads downstairs.

"Hey honey. Don't forget to eat breakfast before heading off to school. I have to go to work. Bye!" His mom says as she's leaving.

Leo grabs an apple and starts walking to school. He lives less than a mile away, so his mother said for him to just walk or ride his skateboard. While walking, he sees Charlie and Brooke coming out of a large white house, just a block away from his house.

"Hey!" Brooke says, running toward Leo. "You must be the new boy, Leondre, was it?" She asks, smiling.

"Uhhh, yeah. I'm... I'm Leondre. That's me, the new kid." He says, rubbing the back of his neck. He starts walking toward the school.

"Here. I'll walk with you. I'm Brooke, and this is my brother, Char..."

"Charlie. Yeah, you both met my mom yesterday in the store. It kinda sounds weird, but I was sitting in my car when I saw you guys walk into the store. She came and told me that she had met you." Leo said, feeling a bit of awkwardness between them.

"Cool. Your mom is Victoria, right?" Brooke asks while the three start nearing the school.

"Yeah. That's her."

"What's your first class?" Charlie suddenly asks. Leo's stomach filled with butterflies hearing Charlie's voice for the first time.

What the heck! Stop being so weird, Leo! He thinks to himself.

"Language Arts. Why?" Leo asks.

"I'm supposed to show you where all of your classes are..." Charlie says. Leo notices Charlie blushing a little.

"Okay, cool."

"I'm gonna get going. See you two lovebirds later." Brooke says while winking at Leo and Charlie.

"What?!" Leo asks, but Brooke just ignored him and walked away. Charlie just stood there, blushing. Leo turned to look at the school, then back at Charlie.

"We're not... I'm not..." Leo says, stuttering his words.

"Its okay. Sometimes Brooke doesn't know her place. I'm not gay, either, so we can hopefully just laugh this off..." Charlie says, rubbing his forearm.

Leo wasn't paying a lot of attention, but he said okay anyways. Charlie showed Leo where his classroom was. Throughout class, all Leo could think about was what Brooke had said about him and Charlie.

What if... No! You're straight, Leondre! But his eyes were so... God, shut up, mind! You have a fucking girlfriend! Leo thinks.

The bell soon rings and Charlie shows Leo his next class. The day continues on and Leo gets Brooke and Charlie's number.

He starts walking home when Brooke came and started walking with him. They walk in silence for a few minutes.

"Shouldn't you be with Charlie?" Leo asks.

"I was just about to ask you the same thing." Brooke says. Leo blushes a little.

"What are you talking about?" He asks

"Don't lie to me. You know you like him. He likes you, too. I can see it in your faces. Blushing all the time, can't stay focused. Its the whole thing." She says to him, playfully shoving him toward the grass.

"Sorry to tell you, but neither one of us are gay, so that's impossible." Leo says, shoving her back playfully.

"Whatever. I have to go home now." She says smiling. She walks up to her door and walks inside. Leo stood there for a little while.

Do I blush whenever I see him...? Impossible. He thinks. He walks the rest of the way to his house and goes up to his room.

Maybe I'll text him and ask if he notices anything. I'll just say its because of Brooke.
