Chapter 20: Hit & Dodge

Leo's POV:

"Hit harder. No, that's not how you're supposed to hit." The guy said. I sighed and tried to hit his hand harder.

"What's your name?" I ask him, continuing the punching. He sighed and put his hands down.

"Jesse. The name's Jesse. Now, no more questions." Jesse says, bringing his hands back up. I continue punching and dodging his hands.

"Ow, fuck." He says after I hit his hand hard enough to hear a crack. He shakes his hand in the air and curses under his breath.

"You're ready." Jesse says, still shaking his hand. For some reason, I'm proud.

"Now, get outta here, you are scheduled to fight in 5. Go get in the ring." He tells me, pushing me out the door.

"You're the newbie, huh? You're pretty strong for a new kid. Did Jesse pick ya? That son of a bitch got us Pipsqueak, too." The blue-haired guy says, not giving me time to answer his questions. I just nod.

"Well, kid, you're up." Blue-hair said after the bell rang. He stepped onto the mat and started his introduction. The nerves in my body are freaking out. Hit and dodge. Hit and dodge.

Where are you?!

Charlie has been texting me for a while now, but I'm not allowed to answer. I really wish he was here right now.

Blue-hair gestures me up to the mat, and Jesse pushes me from behind. I'm introduced as "Newbie" and my opponent isn't very strong.

The bell rings and the fight starts. I dodge his blows, and try really hard not to hit back.

"Hit the guy, Newbie!" I hear Jesse say behind me. I try hitting him but he dodges it. I go again and hit him in the gut. This is actually quite fun.

Charlie's POV:

As soon as I hear the bell, I know that Leo's in there. I don't have to see to know that Leo's in the ring. I walk up to the crowed and look on the mat. Leo's fighting. Holy hell, it's kinda hot.

"Leo!" He glances toward my direction but can't see me. I yell again.

"Oh shit, guys, is that Pipsqueak?" Three girls and one guy are looking at me in awe. I look back up to Leo, who still doesn't see me. Please don't get hurt, please don't get hurt, please don't get hurt.

" Fuck... is that your boyfriend up there in the ring?" The guy asks me. I just nod, trying to focus on Leo.  Titan, Leo's opponent, hits Leo right in his chest. Hit him back even harder, Leo, come on.

Leo hits his jaw, sending Titan back toward the ropes. 

"Your boyfriend's one hell of a fighter, Pipsqueak." One of the girls say, watching the whole thing. 

"The problem is, he's not supposed to be in there..." I say before pushing through the crowd near the front.

"Pipsqueak, is that pipsqueak?"

"No way, Pipsqueak?"

"Now I recognize Newby, it's Pipsqueak's boyfriend!" 

Everyone moved out of my way as I headed toward Leo. They all looked at me like I was their hero, and, I have to be honest, it was kinda nice. Leo, distracted by the commotion, got hit right above his abdomen, and fell to his knees, looking straight at me.

Leo's POV:

I can't stay focused when everybody keeps yelling. 

"Is that Pipsqueak?" They say. No, I'm not Pipsqueak, I'm his fiance. Wait... I look toward the crowd and, low and behold, there stands Charlie, pushing through everyone toward the ring. 

"Leo!" He waves at me with a worried look on his face. I turn to him just as my opponents fist comes toward me. I try moving out of the way, but am too late. I try getting back up, but he knees me right in the face.

 Black.

Charlie's POV:

Titan knocked him out... he knocked him out cold. There is no way Leo is getting back up. He's never done this before, and Titan fucking knocked him out. God Dammit. I jump into the ring.

"Well, look who's showed up! It's Pipsqueak, everyone!" The crowd cheers, and I immediately rush to Leo's side. Jesse is off to the side looking disappointed.

"He was pretty good up until you showed up." He says before turning and walking into the training room in the side building. I look up at Titan and glare.

"I... I didn't know... I swear!" He says as I slowly stand up and walk toward him.  

"Ladies and gentleman, it looks as though we might have another fight taking place. This time it's the Newby's boyfriend, Pipisqueak!"

"Not his boyfriend, his fiance." I tell Jesse, not taking my eyes off of my opponent.

"My bad, Newby's fiance." He says and winks at me. I look over to Leo right before the bell rings. God, baby, I'm so sorry... this is all my fault...

The bell must've rang because all of a sudden Titan throws himself at me. I quickly move out of his way and he falls onto his stomach.

Game on.

The second I hit him the fight was over, we both knew it. Instead of denying it, Titan tapped out, leaving me to win. I ran over to Leo, who was still lying unconscious on the mat.

"Wake up, baby, please, wake up..." I whisper into his ear. I feel something touch me, and look down to see his hand trying to hold mine. He groans.

"Did I win?" I chuckle at him. We kiss and I look into his eyes. I'm so lucky...

"Not necessarily, but you were pretty damn close, babe." I say to him and he sighs, making me think about our situation.

"Wait, do you like this? Fighting." I ask concerned. I hope he says no.

"Its just... it's so exciting! The adrenaline I get, I barely feel when I'm hit." He exclaims, slowly standing up. I get up and he grabs my hand to steady himself. He suddenly stops when he looks at our hands.

"We're engaged... oh my god we're engaged I'm so fucking happy!" He screams toward the crowd, who cheers for him. I hear one girl cry in the chaos.

"Charlie?" He says and looks into my eyes.

"Yes, my love?" I ask

"You're mine"
