Chapter 4: Parks and Rejections

U there. Charlie texts Leo. Leo's head is spinning. He has so many thoughts.

What if my mom finds out? What will I say, 'Oh, its totally just a fucking prank'. Why didn't I just hide the truth? What is a wrong with me!?

Its already 10 pm, and Leo has school in the morning. He has only been going for a week, but he already gets a schedule change.

Are u tired, or is it just me? -Leondre

I can't believe u just told me that I was hot and now ur saying that ur tired and want to go to sleep lol

Whatever. I thought u said u had a grlfriend?

Leo got mad at the mention of her and was glad that Charlie wasn't there to see him.

I did, but I broke up w/ her bc I kinda like u... -Leondre

Oh...

Leo's heart almost burst out of his chest. He couldn't believe that he just told Charlie his feelings for him.

Is that "Oh..." A bad sign? -Leondre

Its just that Brooke will tell the whole school if she found out about our... Relationship type thing...?

Ur right... -Leondre

What if we kept it a secret? -Leondre

Night, Leo.

Leo was so happy. Charlie just said that they had a relationship type thing! He also liked the idea of keeping him and Charlie a secret. If his parents found out, he would get kicked out.

He goes to sleep with happy thoughts.

Leo wakes up before his early alarm goes off. He and Charlie had been planning on walking to the park before school today. Just the two of them, no Brooke.

He had about 20 minutes until he had to meet Charlie at his house, so he went downstairs and wrote a note to inform his mom why he would be gone.

Decided to get an early morning. I'm going to my friend's house after school to work on some homework. -Leo

He put the note where he was sure his mom would see it and then started walking to Charlie's house. The sun was still rising so it looked beautiful while he was walking.

Once he reached Charlie's house, he waited outside the gate. Five minutes passed until Charlie came out of the house. He was wearing a cute white hoodie with jeans and white sneakers.

"Don't I look so hot in white?" He asked laughing.

"It totally brings out your beautiful blue eyes." Leo said, laughing along with Charlie. They start walking toward the park.

"Seriously. I can't handle that laugh. It adorable!" Charlie says.

"That's not fair, you're 2 years older than me!" Leo says right before tackling Charlie onto the nearby grass. They start play wrestling when two unknown girls came up. One looked around Leo's age (15) and the other one looked Charlie's age (17).

The girls didn't go to their school. They said they were just visiting.

"You guys are cute. Especially the shorter one." The younger girl says.

"Not true! The taller ones way cuter!" Says the older one.

Charlie puts his arm around Leo, causing Leo to blush a little.

"Sorry, girls, we're taken." He says.

One of the girls blushes and the other looks embarrassed. Leo stood there looking up at Charlie with love eyes.

The embarrassed girls apologize and quickly walk away, faces blushing beet red.

"So, we're taken, huh?" Leo says to Charlie, pulling him closer.

"Well, I know I am." Charlie says. The two are face to face, eyes locked with each other's. They started getting closer when Leo's phone rang. It was his mom.

"Hey mom." Leo says, slowly getting out of Charlie's grip, but not all the way.

"Just checking to see if you're okay." She says. After talking for only about 3 more minutes, they hang up.

Leo looked at the time. 7:45.

"We should a start walking to school." Leo said to Charlie.

They start walking. Leo was excited to find out his new class schedule.
