She was there, on the Hogwarts Train in Platform 9 3/4. In a compartment, she was reading the Secrets of the Darkest Art, her favorite book which her mother, Selena, bought her for her 16th birthday.

She was unique at her family. She had golden blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She was born just before New Year and she was very powerful. She was reading in silence before somebody interrupted her.

Tom Riddle, her academic rival since First Year. They were enemies, no doubt. But unfortunately, they were the Prefects for Slytherin this year. She knew her father's distant relative, Merope, was his mother. Yet she decided to let him find out for himself. Not that she cares, anyway.

But right now, maybe that decision will be ruined.

"What is it?" she said while reading. He remained silent, and averted his gaze on her book.

"Why are you reading that?" he finally spoke. She barely glanced at him before returning to her book, which annoyed Riddle.

"The question is, do you know I know that you read that?" she snapped. He glared at her, before sitting across from her.

"You know, I can't believe I will say something that's supposed to be secret, especially at you, Riddle. But, I suppose you wouldn't mind. Do you know that I know about your mother, don't you?"

He stared at her in shock, yet it was barely seen.

"How did you know?"

"Of course I know. She was a Gaunt, after all. But you know I'll never tell you about it rather, comepletely" she said bluntly.

He just glared at her and left the compartment. She glanced back at the compartment door and smirked.

Oh, her plan went just as she liked it.

---

He was furious. Madly walking, he suddenly stopped. If she knew about her, then.... He ran back to the compartment, where she is still there, peacefully reading. He took out his wand and pointed it at her throat.

"Is my mother a witch?" She stared at him blankly. She knew he wasn't going to hurt her. He wouldn't risk anything to ruin his perfect record. Besides, he knows that she's powerful. And like they said, Never Meddle with a Powerful Witch.

"Merope? Oh yes, she is quite the witch and the bitch" she said bluntly. He pressed his wand harder in her throat, yet she still isn't afraid at him nor fazed by the situation at all.

"You can't say that to my mother" he warned. Yet she didn't even care.

"Riddle, if I were you, you should listen to me or else you'll never know anything about your mother" she said. After a while, he sighed, irritated.

"Alright"

They went and sat down, Tom having an irritated expression while Serena was rather pleased.

"She appears to me every night, in my dreams. Sometimes she waves at me and smiles. Sometimes she tells me all her reactions about what you are doing at Hogwarts. She knows your secrets, and she is very much disappointed"

"Can I meet her?" She smirked.

"Yes, there is a way" he leaned to her from his seat in interest.

"And what is it?"

"Oh, I wouldn't tell. Why would I do that for you?" He frowned at her.

"Can I do something about it?"

"Actually, you can. You will be my servant for a month" he suddenly shook his head.

"I will never do that" he said then stood up and started leaving when she spoke.

"Do reconsider my offer, Riddle. She has many things to say to you, things that only she can say" she said before returning to her book. And Riddle huffed before leaving. She glanced back before returning to her book, smirking.

Oh, as if he'll actually agree on that.

---

"What?"

They were on a boat to Hogwarts. Serena was rather confused, and Tom looked as if he did everything just to not do this.

"Yes, I agree" he sneered then crossed his arms. She gave him a smug look.

"Oh really?" He nodded. She then smirked.

"Well then, at the first day at Hogwarts. You shall be my slave" she stood up and left. He didn't realize that they were at Hogwarts until now. He shrugged and followed her out.

She was way ahead of him, quite litterally. She smirked.

Oh, he will very much regret his descision.

////

MY GOD, Tom Riddle's attitude in this chapter is SO not Tom Riddle (Well, not entirely) and Serena Gaunt is, well, a snappier and talkative version of the actual Tom Riddle (Well, a bit).

But, I promise you that their personalities will VERY MUCH improve on the next chapters. (Hey, the first chapter is the hardest to write!)
